Wonderful addition to my household. Being able to play news, music, audiobooks and get information by voice command is wonderful. The sound is clear. I've linked my Pandora account, my Audio Book account, and my online radio account to Alexa and have had absolutely no issues.
The one downside, but I'm working on fixing it, is linking my calendar to Alexa. Amazon customer support was unable to help me and referred me to Google and Samsung for help.
Aside from that glitch, which I believe will be temporary, I love Alexa and the Echo.

Not happy at all. Shopping list app disappeared. Every time I tried to download the app, I got the message that I already had the app but it wasn't from Amazon. Finally I erased a echo app and tried to load the same one from Amazon. It took several hours to download
Then I got the message that it couldn't be put on my device because Amazon could not confirm where it came from. Although I'd went to the Amazon site. Not worth the trouble!!!

Love Alexa! It is great to ask a question, weather, music, history, news, at any time. There are even more options we need to explore, but this has been very useful and fun so far. The only down side, which isn't often and not that concerning, is if a television is on the room, sometimes Alexa starts talking saying "I don't understand that question?" in response to something that triggered it on the TV. This has happened only a handful of times. Would recommend this for sure!

My echo is a joy. I listen to flash news reports, music by artist, order from amazon, ask the joke of the day (They are kid friendly and my grandchildren love to hear them.) and listen to pod casts. Alexa can even tell you how many cups are in a gallon (16) and give you a weather report each day. She has become a part of my life.

Very cool right now, probably much more cool as it develops. Voice recognition is good but not great. I'd call it quirky, there are some areas it knows a lot about and other areas where it goes a bit brain dead. There seem to be a list of questions everybody who sees it asks. Most of them are movie or song based. It's got answers to some, but not most. If you start asking unit conversions, it'll do ok on kitchen stuff, not very well on engineering or science. If you want to use "Alexa" as part of your WMD design program - not going to work :)
The (just launched) developer program seems to be pretty good. I suspect that there will be enhancements coming out over the next few months.

I have an Echo Dot and use it all the time. I am still learning about it, but am already impressed. My favorite is that I can ask it the time when I wake up in the middle of the night and don't have to put my glasses on or get up. I get the weather while I am getting dressed in the morning. I also like that I can ask any question and get an answer right away instead of Googling it. There are just too many features to list here. For the price, just get one and try it out.

Love Alexa. She keeps me company. I use her as a timer, reminder, and to get information right away. Of course you have to ensure that the appropriate apps are enable in order to get her to communicate with you. It's fun to have her around. She talks to me more than my hubby does. LOL
