Hmmm... Amazon just raised the cost of the LOTR Theatrical Edition Blu-ray set from $63.99 to $84.99.

Nobody's buying it because it does not include the extended edition or even special features in HD and they think they can encourage more sales by INCREASING the price?

Good luck with that!

maybe they think by constantly altering the price, we'll freak out and buy it.

not likely IMO.

it was a black friday doorbuster at target and target.com for $7.99
Kind of shocked Amazon jacked the price back up. Figured with Target selling it so cheap it might be a precursor to an announcement of the Extended Editions possibly being released in the near future. I guess maybe not

I'll wait there is no way I'm paying that price. I'll rent them from Netflix or I'll stick with my regular dvd. Double dipping is stupid!

Even if it was $20 I wouldn't buy it on principal along,I refuse to buy a movie 4 times! The studio suits must be snorting too much of the white stuff if they think the bulk of the LOTR fans will buy it just becease it's on BD.
