Edit: Just got the 100 watt bulbs Here is where they can be improved. The only color options for these bulbs (both 60 watt and 100 watt) is either Soft White and Daylight. There needs to be one in the middle, a Bright White. For me the 60 watts bulbs I got in Soft White were too much on the yellow side. The 100 watt bulbs I got were Daylight and they are too much on the blue side for me. It's either 2700 K or 5000 K. There needs to be one in the 3500-4000 K range, which is perfect light for me. I just ordered some 60 watt bulbs from Amazon (different brand) in 4000 K. I hope these will be just right.
In the picture you can see the Amazon bulb in the middle section of my kitchen light compared to the two "warm white" on the ends.
AmazonBasics 60 Watt Equivalent, Daylight, Non-Dimmable, A19 LED Light Bulb, 6-Pack
The bulbs I received are soft white, but are actually slightly more toward the white end of the spectrum, although not the blue-white that I find the daylight bulbs to be. I used them as a replacement in my bathroom lighting fixtures. I find that the light is mostly soft, but crisp, and makes it easier for me to see when applying makeup as I do not have the shadows that I used to have previously. They also turn on to full brightness, unlike the CFL bulbs, which need to warm up first.
I really like these bulbs, and while they are not dimmable, they work well in the situation for which I use them.
The light color and brightness are good.
However, the bulbs don't behave the same when distributing light compared to legacy light bulbs.
Light is only emitted from a region partway up the bulb; the bottom of the bulb is opaque.
This is unlike incandescent bulbs and some CFL bulbs,
If the bulb is in a light fitting positioned horizontally the light only appears to emit from one end..
In a light fitting with a single horizontal bulb mount at the top the the stairs it looks weird to me.
With a light fitting with 2 bulbs positioned in alternate directions it probably looks okay.
