I was actually disappointed with this. Especially for the price.
Maybe it wouldn't scratch easily if I just put heavy equipment down on it, but simply doing step back lunges with weights and burpees was enough to scratch it as much as shown in one of my pictures for it. I don't see it wouldn't scratch even easier if I moved heavy equipment over it. It seems to scratch even when I move my somewhat more edgy (but not sharp) Powerblock dumbells over it.
It's thin, and doesn't stay down as much as it should. I've tried putting it over both hardwood floor and carpet, yet it doesn't lay flat while I do things like jumping rope on it. So much so the edges lift up and catch on the jump rope as it comes down, and that happens even with the mat at the joint locations lifting up. It might work out alright for Dumbell floor presses or such static ground exercises.
Is it outright bad? No, I've made it work by not using it for a lot of things, but I wouldn't recommend buying this particular item again. It's also nicer for my elbows than the floor or rough carpet to be able to do planks on.
The folds also, while somewhat helpful, don't exactly help it lie flat. You can see that in one of the attached photos as well.
