AmazonBasics HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable
Enhance your gaming or home-theater system with this AmazonBasics HDMI to DVI adapter cable. Because it’s backwards compatible with DVI-D and DVI-I signals, the cable can be used to connect your computer or DVI-equipped device to an HDMI-equipped HDTV or display. Watch videos from your laptop on your large-screen HDTV--or the other way around. The cable will even connect HDMI-equipped devices like Blu-Ray, PlayStation 3, or Xbox 360 to a DVI-equipped monitor or TV. Other than not supporting audio, the HDMI to DVI adapter cable functions just like a high-speed HDMI cable, making it easy to enjoy serious gaming, home-theater entertainment, and more.
The cable’s extra mesh jacket (net jacket) offers an additional layer of protection and increased cut resistance to the regular cable jacket and ultimately to the inner cable. The CL2-rated cable meets fire safety codes, so it’s safe to use in or through the walls of a residential home.

HDMI to DVI for Quality Video Transmission
The industry standard for transmitting uncompressed digital data, HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) provides video, especially at high resolutions, and renders small, high-contrast details, such as text, in high quality. HDMI cables are used with a variety of everyday electronic components, including computers and home-theater screens. DVI (Digital Visual Interface) is a video-interface standard that provides quality transmissions on digital display devices such as flat-panel LCD computer displays and digital projectors. By connecting HDMI to DVI with the AmazonBasics adapter cable, you get an impressively enhanced video experience on your compatible device. The DVI connector of the cable is not fitted for audio capability, however, so audio will need to be transmitted through a separate audio cable or through a fiber-optic (Toslink) cable.
Gold-Plated Connectors for Superior Conductivity
The AmazonBasics cable delivers a superior signal thanks to its durable PVC outer layer, shielding, and corrosion-resistant gold-plated connectors (HDMI A Male to DVI 24+1 Male). To ensure compatibility, check your component product manuals to determine the required connections types

I had looked at this cable initially, but again, didn't want to wait. Once I had enough, I went ahead and purchased this cable (cheaper than the adapter by the way). The extra length is nice, the fit is nice, and well it keeps my computer screen from going black. It works perfectly and I don't want to yell and scream at the computer anymore.
It is a long cable so you will have some excess but it works great. DVI port plugs into my monitor and the HDMI plugs into my computer. Oh, and the two day prime wait was worth it.
CAUTION: Be careful when buying HDMI cables. We use AmazonBasics HDMI cables for the TV and multiple computers and like their plugs. We have had a cheap cable ruin the inside prongs to one of our TV ports as it bent them when plugging it in. Very expensive to fix - luckily our TV has 3 ports so we're good. We have never had this problem with an AmazonBasics HDMI cable whether for computer or TV.
There this lovely thing was; three bucks cheaper, a foot longer AND as I'm a Prime Member said would get to me by Monday.
Ordered and figured I'd return the other on Tuesday.
This cord was in my possession BEFORE noon on Monday.
Yep, I'm pleased as punch.
Keep in mind that HDMI supports audio, but DVI does not, so when using this, you will need to use a separate cable for the audio. If you are using a computer, you can simply use a stereo cord and connect it to the computer and the speakers separately.
These cables are very tough and durable. Most cheaper cables either form a break in the connection, or the end interface forms a break, within a few months. However, I have never had any problems with these cables.
The cable is very long as well. The cable I own is 9.8 feet, which makes it more than long enough to connect my computer to my monitor without stretching or having to re position anything. There is also a 25 foot version, which would give enough space to connect your computer to a TV that is on the other side of the room.
Overall, I would recommend this cable to anyone who needs a DVI to HDMI, or HDMI to DVI adapter for their computer setup.
Performance wise, it worked right out of the package, no glitching, no problems and the connectors seated well on both ends and definitely no worries of them falling out on their own. The cable itself is also not as large in diameter as my last one and is not as stiff... so that is also a win-win for me.
Then there is the price. Simply put it was great. Arrived in 2-days as promised and packaging was a simple mailer. Nothing fancy in terms of colors or having some designer looking molded end, but rather it sticks to the simple fact of cable...connects two ends.... connect... done... World definitely recommend.
