Excellent bag, with one small design flaw

This is a very useful and compact bag. Fits well in a suitcase, holds plenty, and can hang in all sorts of places (hook on back of door, hotel towel rack, etc.) as well as not taking up too much room on a counter if you're using it that way. I took this on a 6-week road trip and it was excellent. The only small criticism that the designers should fix is that the two side zipper pockets currently close by zipping down. This means that when it's hanging, anything in those pockets is more likely to be able to fall out if you have it open. If it closed by zipping up, you could have it partially zipped to hold things in place while still getting out what you need.

I was looking for a replacement Toiletry Kit for my old High Sierra bag and this seemed the closest to what I was looking for other than the very expensive Tumi Kit. I think it's funny after reading the various reviews that some people say it's too big and others say that it's too small. For me the size is just right.:-)

GOOD: The price is awesome. The number of pockets is great. The type and size of the pockets is great. Even the material seems durable, not flimsy. And, the size of the bag is great.

BAD: My one complaint, and the reason the bag doesn't get five stars from me, is the cut and zipper on the sides of the bag. The opening on each side of the bag nearly goes all the way to the bottom. So, if the bag is hanging, you have to be careful of stuff falling out when you unzip the side pockets. I consider this a design flaw that could be easily fixed: make the sides only unzip 1/2 way and/or put two zippers on the sides, so you can unzip them from the top.

I had a great customer service experience with Amazon who issued me a refund for this product. But I have to say that I’m still disappointed in the quality, feeling compelled to caution other shoppers. I used this bag twice: Once on a trip back home to Seattle for a week and another time traveling overnight to San Diego. Both times, I packed my toothbrush, toothpaste, a bar of soap, lotion, a stick of deodorant, and floss. It wasn’t packed tight and there was plenty of room to spare.

However, after the second trip where I ended up in San Diego, I had a giant tear in the inner mesh pocket. Upon investigating, I couldn’t quite pinpoint what exactly could have caused the flaw. I could only come up with either the tube of toothpaste or the toothbrush maybe cutting itself through. But even still, shouldn’t a toiletry bag be designed to withstand the very things it was made to pack? Especially when it isn’t packed tight?

While I’m grateful that Amazon refunded my purchase, I now know to avoid mesh pouches. Vinyl pouches are the way to go as I’ve never had an issue with those. Mesh is just too fragile and unreliable.

This is a truly great bag, and so affordable! The material is sturdy and well structured (it keeps the same structure whether empty or filled), has smooth zippers that open easily even when the bag is full, and is just a really nice shape and design. I really appreciate that the hook is made of metal and not plastic, unlike many of the other similar bags sold on Amazon. The hook can also be nicely tucked away when not in use.

This bag really fits so much stuff- I have a reusable plastic TSA approved bag that I absolutely pack like a puzzle and stuff to the brim when I fly, I was able to set that fully stuffed inside the main compartment and it didn't even take up half the space. I could easily fit a makeup bag about the same size behind it, and then still had room to fill the compartments with deodorant, etc. The bag fit perfectly in my carry on suitcase and barely took up any room. My only mistake was taking it back out of my suitcase because my husband spotted it and was immediately jealous. He loved it so much I ended up giving it to him and have already ordered a second one for myself! We are heading to Europe for two weeks and this bag is perfect! Honestly I think we could fit both of our toiletries into this one bag, but I just really want to have my own :)

Trust me, I have ordered and returned at least 5 other bags like this on Amazon in my search for the perfect one and this one is pretty close- the only feature I would like to see added to this bag would be secure loops or straps sewn into the side zip compartments so things like tooth brushes, makeup brushes, combs, etc could be secured and organized there. Either way I highly recommend!

Update: had for over a year now and have taken it all around the world. It’s an easy shape for packing in checked luggage but strong enough to protect tubes from squeezing and delicate things like shaver foils from bending. One of the best things I’ve bought from amazon.

Holds everything you need when traveling without having to get creative with space usage. Seems to be of fairly solid construction as well, so no worries about the zippers breaking when you’re stuffing it full.

I wish I’d bought 2 when it was on sale! A second one would be great for organizing all the random electronics and cables we have to carry.

I was going to buy a toilet my bag that was almost 4-5x the cost of this. When I saw this I thought, if I don’t like it I can return it? What the hell.

Honestly, I can safely say that this will probably be my toiletly bag for years to come. There’s no reason not to at least try it. You get 30 days free return, and a 1 year manufacturing warranty. They will send you a replacement if anything happens! (I haven’t gotten any issues yet, but I noticed as I was returning an item I ordered alongside this and was checking my refund status where I was notified of this warranty!)

Pros: - fits almost everything you need. I threw in a few random things to showcase the pockets. I’m able to put lots of creams, my electric toothbrush (in its case) with brush heads. Large toothpaste (but if you’re tracking by air you shouldn’t carry large toothpaste!) lots of creams (day/night face cream, hand cream, moisturizer). There’s space for my straight edge, my disposable, shaving cream and aftershave!
- great built quality backed by an amazon 1 year warranty!
- good zippers, my one worry was they would skip ou and put cheap quality zippers, but no those are comfortable to use and are looking like they will last!

Cons: - Not much options in colours. (I am a huge fan of the black and if they had 10 colours I would still pick it, but you might not want that)
- The branding, again not much of a con because unless if you’re using ziplocks to carry your toiletries (which is also a brand, btw) you’re bound to be carrying a brand logo somewhere on it. If that’s a deal breaker for you you might be able to cut out the amazonbasics logo - I don’t know how it will look thought, depends on how the stitching is done.

Overall, I’d definitely recommend this product if I know anyone is in need of such a niche type of item. You definitely will not be disappointed !

I think most guys will find this a bit too big but it does hold a lot of stuff and there are so many pockets. It's designed so that you can hang it but also access everything while hung, this is mostly why I bought it . I plan on putting other stuff in here too when travelling to fill it up.

Only wish is that there were nets on the side pockets so you could keep them open, but thats a minor detail. I would recommend this product to anyone to keep all their stuff together.
