I hooked this braided HDMI cable between my HDTV and my computer to stream video from the internet to my HDTV. The picture is clear and the sound quality is very good. I don't see any difference while using this cable from computer to HDTV than I do when watching TV directly from my satellite box. The only problem I have with this cable is that it is very thick due to the braiding, which makes it hard to turn. I need to plug it into one side of my HDTV, loop it around the back of the TV and bring it out on the other side where I place my computer out of tripping range. The thickness of the cable makes it hard to loop around and it's heavier than the other cables I have. This cable would probably be best for professional use where there might be heavy usage and plugging and unplugging of the cord. It will probably stand the test of time and constant movement easier than the regular smooth vinyl cables. But, for normal home use, the vinyl cables are easier to handle.

For anyone who has not used an HDMI cable and is new to HDTV, this cable can be used to hook up your cable box, DVD or Blu Ray disc player, computer, Wii, sound system and whatever else you have that has an HDMI cable connector. You do not need to use separate audio cables as this beauty steams everything through it. It's super simple to use - just plug it in to your HDTV and plug the other end into the other component and play. I suggest getting HDMI cables for each separate component so you don't have to pull out the DVD cable to plug in your computer.

I tested this versus a Monster brand cable and was unable to discern any difference in audio or video performance. I connected this cable from my TV directly to two devices to test it out: Apple TV and Roku XD. It worked perfectly with both of them.

The cable is rather thick due to its shielding and braiding. Be sure that the holes in your home theater furniture have enough room to pass these cables through (my holes are already so jammed with cables I had a hard time!). Having said that, the thickness give the cable a real "quality feel" ... not that it matters since this is something you "set and forget" and really should be out of sight anyhow.

I was unable to test the ethernet sharing capabilities of this cable.

A HUGE bonus was the frustration-free packaging. THANK YOU AMAZON.

I have purchased a lot of HDMI cables over the past couple of years. Typically, I spend about $100 on them. I find it, frankly, ridiculous that the industry is able to take advantage of consumers to this level, but I do it. Why? Because I feel if I spend thousands on a receiver, an HDTV, etc. that I don't want my cabling to be the bottleneck of the system.

I had a chance to get my hands on the Amazon Basics High Speed HDMI cable and I thought I'd give it a go. I am glad I did.

1. The cable is of SUPERB quality. I feels in your hand even better than MonsterCable, Audioquest, etc.
2. The cable is the perfect length. Usually the cable are either 1-meter or 3-meters. Either too short or too long. The 2 meter length is just perfect.
3. It has the technology to work perfectly with 3D, 240MHz, etc. That's important considering you'll want to make sure you are buying cabling that is 'future proof'.
4. The price is much better than you'd get for similar or lesser quality from Monster or Audioquest.
5. It's Amazon backed . . . okay, so everything is Amazon-backed but I just get some added comfort knowing this is Amazon's white-labeled brand. But I'm an Amazon fanboy so . . . :-)

I will definitely buy my future cable needs from AmazonBasics . . . because their cabling is far from 'basic'.

Monster cables seem to be the rage right now, however in my opinion they are just an over priced option. Anyone looking for an HDMI cable would be foolish to not consider this cable. It's high quality and think. Yes, it takes a little bit to manuver it into the right position, but it's a minor problem and easily fixed with a few twists and turns.

I was looking for an HDMI cable to hook up my Xbox 360 and am glad I found this one. It works perfectly with no problems.

With Amazon's frustration free packaging it really was as simple as opening the bow, plug, plug and play. No bubble/plastic packaging to fight with and the price point is spot on to what I would have paid.

Best bang for your buck in HDMI cables right now.

I ordered the plain version of this cable and then used it to hook up a family member's DVD player and replaced it with the braided version so I could see what the difference was.

Braided:
More expensive
Stiffer, can be a problem if you have to make a tight corner within 3 inches of the end of the cable
I'd think it's more durable, it seems much tougher
It has that Monster Cable heft feel if that means anything to you

Plain:
Cheaper
Lighter
More flexible
Does not feel like Monster Cable

Having used both, I like the plain because I travel with mine so lighter and more flexible are big plusses. Cheaper is an added bonus.

I've noticed no difference in performance, both have worked perfectly for me.
