AmazonBasics XLR Male to Female Microphone Cable
Ideal for studio recording and live sound, the AmazonBasics XLR Male to Female Microphone Cable creates a reliable, high-quality connection for optimal audio. The microphone cable features premium XLR male and XLR female connectors.
Choose from 6-foot, 10-foot, 25-foot and 50-foot lengths (each sold separately). The shorter cables work well for home studios and smaller stages, while the longer cables make a great option for larger platforms or when needing more leeway.

- Shielded cable reduces interference and excess noise
The AmazonBasics microphone cable features all-copper conductors and inner copper spiral shielding, which reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) and unwanted excess noise, like an audible buzz, for example. The professional-quality cable allows the sound of an instrument or voice to flow through in a clear, natural, true-to-life way.
The microphone cable’s durable design ensures long-lasting strength and exceptional performance, from one gig to the next. The cable includes protective metal housing, a zinc-alloy connector body with white-nickel plating, and a three-pin design made of brass with a silver-plate finish.
Flexible PVC Jacket
With its 6.0mm outer diameter, the microphone cable’s flexible PVC jacket protects the cable from everyday hazards, plus makes it malleable for easy routing, out-of-the-way placement, and smooth pickup when finished.

Why I like this cable:
Two velcro cable management straps on each cord.
Substantial strain relief at both ends.
The XLR connectors are solid as is the cord.
My Sennheiser e945 clicked on very reassuringly.
1. No gold connectors. Great, who needs them? Someone show me evidence of gold connectors sounding better especially with your Monster cables...please.
2. Amazon Basics branding. Why are people complaining about this? Some people will complain about anything. These guys make a good product that they will stand behind. Give them a chance to put their seal of approval on solid products that can be had for what is truly a bargain of a price for what it is.
The CHEAP xlr connectors are a bit oversized, very difficult to insert and remove from all of my gear. Some other reviewers report having standard XLR gear that these cables won't fit into at all. I bought two, and both male and female ends on both cables have the same problem, so it seems unlikely the issue is that they are simply out-of-round. These are Chinese knockoffs of the quite excellent Neutrik chuck style connectors, and although they look similar they are VASTLY inferior to US and European brands like Neutrik, Amphenol and Switchcraft.
The wire itself is junk, the cheap rubbery (not in a good way) outer jacket gets very stiff when cold, I have to assume that the conductor jacketing is similar, and will likely crack if flexed under extreme cold conditions (a common trait of cheap wire insulation). If you are not meticulous about how you wind your cables for storage these will get very 'lumpy' looking very quickly. (best to use the "over/under" wrapping method for all your cables... look it up)
Every aspect of these is just plain awful, the soldering is a mess, presumably done as fast and as cheap as humanly possible in a Chinese sweat shop, er, "factory" where the workers are essentially slaves.
These could actually DAMAGE your gear. Having to force-in the cheap plated connectors will cause small bits the plating to flake off, which could work their way into your mic pre's and various other components. I'm NOT letting these anywhere near my nice digital mixer, condenser mic's or any other valuable gear. If you're running low end stuff like PG58's and Harbinger speakers then no big loss, otherwise, even as a cheap backup... AVOID!
The problem is that the assembly is a bit shoddy. The jackets of the inner conductors were cut when the large jacket was stripped. Also, some of the solder joints were a bit sloppy in a few spots on both ends.
I was able to re-solder the bad connections, but didn't bother cutting it back to fix the damaged jacketing. It works fine, and isn't very noisy.
TLDR; The female part of the cable is slightly too long to CLIP into my mic. It works fine though not clipped in.

Excellent quality, the ends are solid with a good weight. I didn't receive any pops or feedback. The rubber is thicker than some of the non name brand cables I see around here. I bought one to test and will be getting more in the future. I do a ton of recording and usually require about 16 tracks at a time for drums so these will be perfect for the job.
I enjoy helping consumers make informed decisions. Thank you very much for the 'Yes' helpful vote, and please feel free to comment or ask questions related to this product or other items I have reviewed on Amazon.
I've owned various levels of cables over the years, and this one is definitely not recommended and of a poor design. I'm returning mine.
It you don't know what balanced and unbalanced is, it's important to know if you don't want any extra NOISE in your audio system. If your cable has only 1 ring at the jack, then it has only two wires in the cable, which may pick up noise along the way from the mic or whatever instruments you have connected to the mixer. It's important to check to see if there are two rings (3 wires inside), which mean it's BALANCED, it has a "noise cancelling" function and you will have almost zero noise (drastically reduced) when the signal is back to your mixer. Which means it's cleaner, and the recorded audio is useable. :) :)
You don't need >$100 for mic/instrument cable, unless you are recording at Abbey Road level. Just make sure it says BALANCED.
And the material is soft and flexible, so the cables handle easily without feeling cheap. I will buy only Amazon Basics cables when I need more in the future, I am completely sold on these!!!
