Ordered this in the 25' length for an application within my Crestron enabled smart home. I needed to relocate one of the four wireless access points necessary to provide full coverage. The 'run' from my data closet to the previous endpoint (Unfii Wireless Access Point) was about 150-170'; which if you understanding networking - isn't a problem. A 'node' in networking is 330' - meaning your cable run can travel about the length of a football field. The 'but' is that your network is only as strong as its weakest link - so good cables are vital. Thus I used this AmazonBasics CAT7 25' cable and a Cable Matters (all metal-shielded) Ethernet in line coupler to extend my run from its 170' to about 200' total to update the position on a wireless access point. That end device nicknamed WAP - then provides its additional sphere of coverage in a home or business. I was shocked that latency, ping rate and throughput only had a delta of <1 if not zero - WOW! Here's the skinny - Amazon got this one right. This cable has what it needs to win - the individual four pairs of wires within it are all twisted tight (avoids its ability to be interfered with by radio signals, etc.) and then these 4 pairs were wrapped in their own insulation (called shielding). Then true to CAT7 standards the individually wrapped quad set of pairs were wrapped in metal-based outer shield. Further the quality of materials on the end connectors themselves are first rate and the ends (what we plug into devices) are also shield against the invisible radio frequencies that permeate our homes. I'm trying to simply this but I'm smiling because if it needs simplified - you probably don't care anyway!. But I have a full 1GHz data connection to my home (and I truly wanted this section of the home to receive the full power of my strong Internet - and I succeeded. I am so proud that Amazon's ability to tell a manufacturer - hey this thing is going to be high value - no BS and conform to true CAT7 architecture - and it actually happened. When this is for yourself, your teen's Xbox or for work - I can't imagine you can find a higher quality cable anywhere near its price or guarantee. This cable enabled me to place an access point closer to an area where only the 5GHz bands could pass the steady 1411k per second for Tidal Hi-Fi streaming or my Vudu UHD Atmos enabled streaming - or even my Vidity UHD downloads from Fandango with ease! Even when I'm streaming exterior CAMs steadily to this area of the house via the Crestron Video Distribution Network - the 600MHz of this cable truly laughs it off. I have absolutely zero doubt that anyone will complain that this cable is the cause of their GHz connect slowing down to 100/10MB within any application they're going to use. Finally it comes wrapped nicely coiled in plastic and then placed in one Amazon's simple but first quality boxes - so the first impression and heft of the cable was solid too. I would repeat this purchase 100 times.

The AmazonBasics RJ45 Cat7 Network Ethernet Patch Cable is exactly what one would expect from a quality ethernet cable. I’ve ordered four of these within the past year and a half. All four have performed as expected and beyond expectation sometimes. Two fifteen-foot ones are used to connect the router in my office to the modem in the living room and the router to a TV. Two seven-foot long cables are used on my desktop and PS4. I consistently receive my paid for internet speed on both and I’ve gotten greater speeds on several occasions. The one in my desktop has been in use since September of 2017 and I’ve had no problems with it. Wired connections will always beat wireless in terms of performance. I’ve noticed that web pages and videos always load immediately with the wired connection compared to the wireless connection from my Belkin AC1200 sometimes taking a few seconds.
I’ve not performed any truly useful speed tests comparing wireless to wired with this cable. I received my most recent cable two weeks ago. I do have some results I gathered from the PS4 over the past month of testing using the network connection test on the system. We pay for a 25/1.5 Mbps bonded connection. My PS4 was connected wirelessly for a while due to some temporary networking changes here. Wirelessly I was achieving download speeds between 10-15 Mbps and 0.7-1.2 Mbps for upload speeds. The connection was never consistent and I could never get more than 15. Using a Cat5e cable, I was consistently achieving 18-20 Mbps download and 1.1-1.3 Mbps upload. With the AmazonBasics Cat7, I am able to consistently achieve 25 Mbps download and 1.3-1.5 Mbps upload. On a couple of days, I hit 30 Mbps on four consecutive runs.
These cables feel very sturdy and don’t flex easily. That’s a good thing for network cables. The connectors produce a nice click once they’ve been plugged in. There’s no guessing game as to whether or not they’re properly inserted.
My only disapproval with this product is that there is no option for a length greater than 25 feet. There is a Roku Ultra in our master bedroom that’s about 40 feet away from the router and the connection is not the best when connecting wirelessly. I would’ve preferred another one of these, but I had to order a different ethernet cable to resolve that problem.
If you want a well-made ethernet cable that can clearly outperform wireless and older wired standards, order this one. I’ve been impressed with the performance and durability.

About 6 months back i finally finished upgrading all my computers, router, network switches, security cameras and wifi mesh extenders from older 10/100BT to 10/100/1000BT Gigabit Ethernet. Took a while and some of the expense is all the upgraded cables. I had used Cat 6 thinking it was adequate, but Cat 6 just doesn't give full Gigabit speeds. And anyone who knows about wired networking knows, the slowest element in the chain, slows the whole network down, maybe not by much, but enough to notice. Was fortunate that Amazon Basics brand offered Cat 7 cables at a very good price, was able to buy a few dozen of them in various lengths 3ft, 10ft, 15ft patch cables and 50ft lengths. The speed rating actually is valid, I'm getting just over 1024MB aka 1 Gigabyte speeds over all the major areas for my House/home Business. thanks a Bunch amazon for producing high quality patch cables that don't break the bank.

Used this to replace Cat 5e cable running from my coax to ethernet adapter to my gigabit switch. The max speeds of the Cat 6 connected desktop went up by about 200M. I assume Cat 6 cable would have done as well. Cable is stiffer than lesser categories but that is because the increased gauge and shielding which is what I wanted.
