I'm writing this only after spending 15 minutes fishing this through a ceiling to a projector, and then spending 30 minutes troubleshooting why it would not work. I dismantled everything and pulled the cable back out, ready to return. Upon closer inspection, I saw the words SOURCE in black lettering, on black cable. Lo and behlod that was the issue.
Just don't make the same mistake I made after running a 50 ft cable. Otherwise, it's working fine.
FWIW I have not had a chance to test this on a 4k connection.
I read all the Amazon reviews online for this HDMI cable and was a firm believer that virtually all HDMI cables are standardized. Therefore, if you get a cable that meets the spec, you should be alright. I also take great pride in building a very high quality home theater but very economically. I researched a ton on every part of my system (top of the line 2018 75" Samsung QLED Q8FN, Denon AVR-S510BT Receiver, KEF speakers, Comcast Xfinity cable box 4K XG1v4).
Imagine my incredible disappointment AND frustration when I bit the bullet and bought this AmazonBasics HDMI cable for my in-wall installation! My home theater contractor professionally installed every component and I watched him and his team the entire time. When we finished the job, he said to me-- "I bet you'll be calling me back to swap out that Amazon HDMI cable." Lo and behold, after a few months of struggling through this flickering (see video), I couldn't take it anymore and had to switch it out. Basically, whenever I put something on in 4K HDR (Netflix for example) or 1080p, this flickering would intermittently start. So frustrating to pay this contractor to come back, take the TV off the wall and re-run the cable inside the wall!
I ended up buying an AudioQuest 10' 4K Ultra HD In-Wall HDMI Cable, which I think is a Best Buy exclusive. Sure its much more expensive but guess what-- I have no flickering issues now.
In conclusion, don't cheap out and buy quality stuff-- NOT AMAZONBASICS. I feel like there's some gamification of the review system going on to let this cable get a 4.5 star rating. Also, thanks Amazon for NOT letting me return this since I passed by their return window. Insult to injury. You should stand behind your branded products!
I tested it with the Samsung K8500 UHD blu-ray player. This player's home screen is 4K 60fps and it worked fine. I popped in a couple of 4K blu-ray discs (most 4K blu-rays are 24fps so it's a lot easier on HDMI cable) and it worked without any issue. I then tested with the Costa Rica 4K 60fps on youtube and it also worked. For every test, I pressed info button on my TV remote to see the input signal and confirmed the correct input resolution and frame rates.
To sum it up, if you want to buy this cable to for 4K, go for it. It's NOT guaranteed to work but there's a good chance that it will. I worked for me. I guess I'm lucky but you can be too. If it doesn't you can always return it.

I'm using it to plug an iPhone in to a large screen for demo purposes - and the weight of the cable means its constantly tugging on the iPhone connection.
Fortunately we live in a bungalow, but it did still mean I needed to run a long (guesstimated 10m) HDMI, USB and 3.5mm jack up in to the loft and drop down in to another room. As it turns out the extra .6m really saved me here too as I guesstimated a little short and had to drop down on the left side of the TV rather than the right side. No biggie but that'll teach me for not bothering to measure properly I guess.
The monitor I have is pretty old at 1920x1200 at 60hz, so I didn't really expect too much trouble compared to those who are after 4k at 60hz, but yes, needless to say it works fine. The cable itself is pretty thick and a little bit on the stiff side, but still perfectly workable.
There's not much more to say. It's a cable. It works.
This is the only cable which works flawlessly. It also happens to be the cheapest. There's another one which is braided but it couldn't hold a 4k 60p signal for more than a few minutes without flickering. This cable is flawless. I was beginning to think 5m HDMI cables were just not fit for purpose. This changed my mind. The cable is very thick but that's a good thing. No concerns about interference. Will buy this again for all future AV requirements
I have the cables routed through a wall channel keeping the peripherals in a cupboard below the TV which is mounted on a wall; the cables are quite thick so don't flex too easily and require some work to bend round corners but compared with much more pricey cables, these are great.
EDIT: The seller sent me another 10m cable free of charge, and this one works some of the time, but still cuts out at 4k 60hz every minute or so. Either terrible quality control or just not capable of the bandwidth at 10m.
4K content works fine when connected to TV HDMI1 and ARC works fine when watching 1080p but not together????
This is ridiculous as I watch a lot of smart TV content and didn't want to run an optical lead as prefer ARC.
TV is now wall mounted with cables plastered into the wall..
not too thick and stiff
they do 4k at 60fps effortless
worth getting all day long for sure
Picture quality is brilliant so I would recomnend this product.
3 star is for sending untested products.
