I've used this Amazon basics antenna and another (similar in size) cheapy antenna I got from eBay for $5. I receive the exact same picture quality and same amount of channels with both antennas as long as the antenna is placed up against the glass in our front window and faces the broadcast towers (about 45 miles away from me). My point is: Don't complain or write a bad review if the antenna doesn't work for you. If the conditions you have aren't perfect and you receive very little reception, don't be an idiot and blame the antenna. If you buy the antenna, it's a gamble. It might work, it might not. It's only $10 people.
A $5 antenna or a $50 antenna will get you the same results if the antenna placement is correct and you don't live out in the middle of nowhere.
Overall quality is good. Some days are better/worst than others. I got the half size one and feel its good for the most basic stuff. I do have to move the antenna if I wanted FOX to the opposite side the wall. I'll assume the station is closer towards that side. I'm under the impression that if I wasn't in the basement, i wouldn't have to me playing with the placement of the antenna and possibly get better signal as well.
But this does a decent job in the chicago market. I had an older powered antenna to compare to and this blows that out the water.
Great little antenna. Brings in all my area available stations crystal clear with only the very occasional drop-out on a couple of channels. I bought this antenna to replace the 4-year-old antenna (with tall rabbit-ears) I previously used thinking that newer technology might make a difference in my reception. It reallly did the trick. Channels that had quite a bit of drop-out are now perfect - no rabbit ears to deal with and it hides behind my tv cabinet! I don't have the ability to use a roof-top antenna and this little gem means I don't have to! Yay! Cut the cord 4 years ago and haven't looked back.
So I tried the 35 mile antenna, thinking a little more gain would eliminate the silly need to move the antenna such a small distance. Nope, exactly the same behavior!
So back went the 35 mile version, and I'll just move the 25 mile one if I need to watch a rogue station.

Next thing to try is a DVR for digital antennas...
I am located toronto about 10 km west from downtown.
Now my living room has much more free space and this antenna, i don't even have to place it near the window.. very pleased.
It is important to find the right position for the antenna in your home; the quality of reception depends a lot on that. So you will probably need a 15 ft or even longer coax cable. The box includes a 6ft cable.
