You would be wise to buy a different brand of double-stick tape as this stuff is of NO use, whatsoever ... seriously!
The ridges on the tape dispenser will not pierce the plastic that covers one side of the tape so, you do need to use scissors to cut this tape. Next, the plastic that covers the reverse-side of the tape's adhesive will NOT separate from the tape so, you cannot use this as double-stick tape, which is what the product supposedly is ... double-stick tape. Since it can't be used correctly, IF you were to use it as one-sided-stick tape, you would be left with very thick tape (since the backing will not come off), and your (now) one-sided tape would have black words on it that say: Remove Protective Film, which is ugly and no longer clear tape. BUT, the adhesive does a terrible job at sticking to anything (other than the protective film) that covers the adhesive that makes the tape double-stick. I know this is hard to follow, so just take-away this ... the tape is not good for anything, at all; it's complete garbage!
I'm disappointed and sorry that I wasted my time and money. Today, I THOUGHT I had tape for gift-wrapping but when I went to wrap a birthday gift, I ended up having to go to the store to buy some real tape, at a time when I was in a rush. Boo! And, shame on Amazon for putting their name on such rubbish!
