I'm only using this in the default mode - I have not tried to program any alarms and such. No issues with this product.
On Dec 13, I ordered from Amazon the set of WS-1171's for a gift to my weather obsessed #1 daughter and son-in-law. Removed the old 1170 remote sensor and installed the new remote sensor, powered up the two new 1171's, They sat side by side so I can check the readouts for consistency. 24 hours later I noticed one of the 1171's was not reporting the massive change in barometric pressure while its mate did. I emailed Ambient, got in touch with a person who seemed to be, at the time a competent support person who after some back and forth emails, sent out a new display console the Friday before Christmas, so I had a fighting chance to get these items packed and wrapped for Christmas. When received I added it to my collection of display consoles, my 2009 WS-1170 and now 3 WS-1171 sitting on my desk. 24 hours later, I noticed that the replacement 1171, was not updating with the WWVB signal so it would not sync the correct date and time. The original units updated when I first installed batteries within about 10 minutes leaving me with a little programing to set time zones, 24 hour time and daylight time observance. Since it was now the weekend of Christmas, no wrapping was in my future.
On the Tuesday after Christmas, I had the four little beastly Weather Stations sitting on my desk.Read more ›
