Product Description

Product Description

Mashed potatoes may be the epitome of comfort food -- warm, delicious, buttery and evocative of simple dinners with friends and family. Everyone has a their own idea of what makes really delicious mashed potatoes. But most cooks will acknowledge that the secret to really delicious, mashed potatoes is a handheld potato masher. The reason is that whipping (such as with a stand or handheld mixer) releases the starch -- resulting in sticky, gluey potatoes. Simple, yet effective Amco's Potato Masher is an essential item for every kitchen. This masher is sturdy and made of stainless steel. .

If you love mashed potatoes, this all-purpose, 10-inch, 18/8 stainless-steel masher will instill the control needed for perfectly textured potatoes or sweet potatoes, from smooth mashers to lumpy and chunky smashed ones. With an exceptionally wide, 4-3/4-inch serpentine-style wire, Amco's masher is excellent at bashing big potatoes or root vegetables, such as carrots and parsnips. Sturdy & strong enoughy to break down any spud. Attractive in that minimalistic brushed steel way to appeal to your sense of taste. On the flip side, 5 inches wide at its base- so this masher requires a big bowl. And last but not least, you should know that this masher is heavy enough to double as a weapon

This Potato Masher is very well-made and more than strong enough for anything that you might need to mash. It is heavier and wider than the average grocery store masher and appears to be quite sturdy. I mash potatoes in the big cooking pot that I use to boil the potatoes. If you are using a smaller pan and fewer potatoes this masher might be over-kill. But, for those mashing larger quantities of potatoes and using a large pot or bowl - this masher is perfect. It is heavy enough to really assist with the mashing and will not bend and lose it's shape as some of the less stout models do. I recommend this for those mashing larger quantities of potatoes by hand.
