Amcrest HDSeries 720P WiFi Security IP Camera IPM-721S (Silver): Quick Second Setup / Wide 85° FOV / Remote Web Access from Smartphone or Tablet / Storage to MicroSD, NVR, or Amcrest Cloud / Pan and Tilt + Intelligent Digital Zoom / Night Vision Up to 32ft / Two-Way Talk / Smart Motion Alerts Camera keeps losing connection intermittently: No matter where you install an Amcrest camera, the exact amount of upload bandwidth it uses will vary. Usually the camera will use anywhere from 1.0 - 2.0 Mbps of upload speed bandwidth. Customers should check with their Internet service provider to learn more about their data plan, if it has a monthly data cap, and any fees that might apply if data use exceeds the limit. Usually the main reason a camera is not able to function properly is due to a lower upload bandwidth speed compared to many other factors. If the camera cannot manage to utilize the 1.0 - 2.0 Mbps upload speed bandwidth per camera, it is likely the camera will result in working intermittently and/or disconnecting from the network. If a customer is experiencing issues with the camera's live stream causing delays, stuttering, or not working, they should consider turning some wireless devices off and seeing if this resolves the issue. How to reset your camera's password: As always, we suggest creating a password strong enough to prevent against malicious login attempts, but reliable enough to be remembered. Depending on the device, the password reset procedure may vary. If you need to reset your password, we recommend viewing support center articles related to your specific camera model at www.amcrest.com/support. How to fix the "Failed to Connect" and "Login Timed Out" issue: If you receive this error message, try force-closing your app and opening it again to see if the issue persists. If you still have trouble, unplug the camera from its power source for 45 seconds, then replug the power source back into the camera and attempt to stream the live view once more. If the issue still persists beyond this point, we recommend power cycling your network router. How to fix the "User Locked" error notification: If you receive this error message, it means that you have attempted to login to your camera with the wrong username and/or password. Remember that your password is required to be changed on your first login, and that this new password needs to be used when connecting to the camera in the future. When the camera locks the user, it will lock the user for up to 5 minutes. Alternatively, you can bypass the wait time by unplugging the camera from its power source for 45 seconds, then plugging the power source back into the camera and attempting to stream the camera once more.

- The app is good but could use some improvement. Hopefully this will be fixed in a future update. You can always use a 3rd party app to get around this.
Overall this is a great camera and much better than the ones on the market today. It is not as easy to setup as a Dropcam, but has a ton more features.

I got this camera to monitor an attic trap for squirrels. It is pitch black up there, and I set the camera down and enabled "black/white", which turns on the Night Vision infrared LEDs. As you can see by the attached picture, it almost looks like I took the picture with a flash! But that picture was taken by the camera in complete darkness.
The other great thing is, the pic you are looking at came live from the camera app on my Android phone literally a minute ago. I am 50 miles away from my attic right now, and I am able to connect remotely to my camera and to see live video in complete darkness. How cool is that!!
You can change the video quality of the camera. The phone app screen capture that I just uploaded is a low-res picture, because I don't want to waste my phone's data watching a high-res video stream of an attic. I have better things to waste my gigabytes on. Even for a low-res image, you can still clearly see that I have a trap set with nothing caught yet.
The other great thing is that the two-way communication is pretty awesome. When I first got this, I set it up in our kitchen to do some testing, and it was really neat to be able to talk to and hear my kids through the camera, as well as see them on my phone/mobile device.
The app itself lets you monitor many camera devices at once. The app gets updated, so if you are reading people complaining about how the app sucks, please look at the posted date to be sure they aren't talking about a really old version. It has made some significant improvements during the last year.
I will be getting more of these cameras. I'm going to get an outdoor weatherproof version of this camera for the front door area, and another one for security in our basement. You can go to your Windows or Mac version of the control panel for this camera and set up motion detection or audio detection, and it will send you an e-mail if something trips the threshold.
I'm going to offer one piece of advice if you use e-mail notifications. You will want to get a free service called smtp2go dot com. They are a mail relay service, which allows your camera to send e-mails to any e-mail account you have. The relay is important because the camera needs a way to log into a service and to generate the e-mail to be sent to you. This was the only tricky step if you want to enable e-mail alerts. Otherwise, everything is straightforward.
Camera quality is great, and you can change color temperatures, stream size, audio quality, etc. The app comes in a "standard" and "pro" version, so if you'd like to tweak settings and experiment, pro is the way to go, and both versions are free, no ads to deal with. I've had the app crash on me maybe 2 times during the 100 times that I checked in with the camera so far. So not a big deal to reboot the app should something mess up on the phone.
The box comes with a mounting kit, which is cool if you want to stick it somewhere on a wall or ceiling. Just keep in mind you'll need a plug nearby. The power cord is very generous in length, though.
I also tested this on my wife's iPhone6 Plus, and it works just as well as the Android app that I use.
I cannot find any negatives yet,
