Stuff I really liked: I enjoyed the storyline. It moved along at a nice pace without sagging. I really liked Robert's character. He was a sweet guy. He put up with the kind of crap that many men wouldn't deal with. I like how little bits and pieces of him show up throughout the plot for a continual character development.
What I wanted to be better: This is a story set in the 1920's, but atmosphere and setting was all but absent. This story could have been placed in the 1880's or the 1960's with no difference. I wanted more of the Roaring Twenties! I wanted to see more of the clothes, the attitudes, everything.
...including Nancy's attitude. I couldn't fully empathise with her as a character because of her little prim-and-proper act. Something going on? Something bugging her? She failed to communicate. Clammed right up. Most of the issues that happened to her was because of her Not Talking About Things. That made it difficult for me to like her.
Most of the characters were fleshed out except the bad guy. He was pretty much a one-way street. I would have liked to see more depth with him.

I would recommend this book to young adults and as well as adults who enjoy a clean inspirational, historical romance. This is much more than a girl-meets-boy story. It is a story of family love, faith, and forgiveness with an ample dose of suspense mixed in.
