So I needed a Christmas red buttercream frosting and all my Googling led me to buying this for the Super Red mostly.The reviews were not lying when they said the red would develop over time. I started off by dyeing it pink and then added red and felt like it was still way too pale and decided to just go with it. I was surprised to see that the frosting had turned RED and I hadn't noticed how much until I stopped to look at all of them an hour or two later. It was like magic. I did use a lot of the dye, probably half of the bottle for about 4-6 cups of buttercream frosting, but it didn't have any aftertaste that I could detect. I did have almond extract in the frosting so that may have masked any flavor it had.I'm super impressed with this food coloring!

FYI, use pink + blue for purple. Red + blue only gives you gray with purple tint. Red + black gives you burnt sienna. Yellow + touch of green gives you leaf green. Yellow +pink/red gives you orange. Blue + green gives you aqua/teal. You can do all the experiment. These are some combinations I would like to use. I especially like the purple shades and teal shades. And I am ready for the Halloween cookie decorations, with orange and black. Love them~

This food color is way more expensive than the one I get from local grocery store. BUT, it worth it. I tried mixing colors with both brands. And Americolor gives me beautiful lavender purple.By Peachtree on October 3, 2020

So Happy These Didn't Alter Flavor!

I purchased these Americolor food colors after being urged to do so by several baking mentors in my life and I'm so glad I did! I had been happy with another, more common/more readily available in stores brand for its coloring ability but I was not pleased with the fact that whenever I tried to achieve red, deep pink, or fuschia, it altered the taste of my buttercream. I honestly couldn't get past the taste difference and it bothered me to no end. So, upon receiving the recommendations to try Americolor, I made the leap despite the price difference and I'm happy to say it was worth it! I have not experienced the same issue and I've also found the colors to be much more potent, so I can use less to achieve the desired effect. The bottles are small, but a little goes a long way. I will definitely continue to purchase these, and I appreciate Amazon carrying them so I can utilize Prime in a pinch!

One of the colors (leaf green) was broken and when I contacted the seller, they got back to me within a FEW HOURS & issued a full refund! I’m shocked as I only requested a replacement for that one color that was damaged.
Will only be purchasing from them!! It’s worth the extra money. I’ve tried Wilton’s gel color and it was such a waste of money... no pigment at all.
