1) You have never bought it before or are a Vegas newbie. Some of the info is decent, coupons aside.
2) You're staying near Fremont St or plan on driving a car around while you're there. I've had this book in the past and enjoyed it more than I did this year. The coupon quality has gone downhill over the years, and most of the best coupons are off-strip or downtown. Considering all of the properties that now charge for parking, and to avoid drinking/driving and accidents in a rental, we took Uber, Lyft, and the Deuce bus everywhere this past trip. I think I only used 2-3 gambling coupons. Most of the other coupons aren't worth it because similar deals can be found online or elsewhere.
This year I was a little worried about getting the book after reading a couple of reviews here. I'm glad I don't listen to negative reviews that much. Someone said there are less coupons and it's not worth it. They were wrong there are a lot more coupons, they did take out a lot of other states coupons which I'm happy with. I want the book for Vegas and I was very happy when I looked at it last night. First off the Flame Steakhouse is still in there, which pays for the book. I'm staying downtown again and there are 4 coupons in the book for the casino I'm staying at and there were none in it last year. So I'm very happy with the book and I'm not planning on playing poker all day and night this trip so I know we will even get more out of the book then last year.
I should state this though, if you are staying on the strip and don't plan on coming downtown the value of the book isn't as great. You can still get your money's worth with places in New York or Planet Hollywood and a few other places. But really the book is perfect for downtown. Last year was the first time I stayed downtown, it's a lot better than it use to be and still cheap to stay and eat unlike the strip. Plus I've heard they have even made more improvements downtown from when I was there last May. So maybe try going downtown and really use the book to it's fullest.
