worth owning, as it is interesting and well-organized. it's from 1985, so much of the information (classifications, care advice) is either out-of-date, or of dubious value. but still makes for a good read/resource.
my main negative is some fish were not included which I thought would be no-brainers (Jack Dempsey, Blue Acara) while other families got more attention than I thought was warranted. not a major issue, tho'.
An oldie, but a goodie. This is a great reference book with some fantastic pictures. I've been in the hobby for 20+ years and wish they still made books like this. You won't be disappointed with this book.
Love this books - I study my fish so this is a good book to have. I collect large American cichlids I have to say I use this book and google once day lol. The book a bit outdated for pics but the data is great
Another of the four hardcover Cichlid books released by tetra press. The second of two about American (new world) Cichlids this one deals with the larger species Jack Dempsey Oscars and on and on. As always full of great photos. A little dated but a great addition to my library.
