The box had "made in china" boldly printed on it. Considering this came from American Educational, that seemed a bit ironic. I was hoping for an American-made product. At least, though, they didn't try to hide it's origins.
The smaller box had a couple small holes in it that the stand had punched during shipping. However, despite these, the box was altogether intact and undamaged.
Upon removing the stand from its box, I observed that the actual stand part seemed to be very high quality. The base was sturdy metal, and quite heavy. It was very smooth and had a good finish. The rod had a threaded end that was screwed into the base. The rod seemed to be high-quality too. The rings were made of what seemed to be rough aluminum. They were sturdy and functional. However, their rough finish didn't fit well with the smoothly polished rod and base. This is a purely aesthetic issue.
Overall, I think this product is a good choice for a casual home scientist or anyone who needs a cheap and affordable support stand for the lab. If you need something that looks pristine, then go somewhere else, but if the looks don't matter that much, I would recommend this product.
I should know better; don't buy ANYTHING made of metal from china! For some reason it is beyond the socialist mind to weld straight!
The issue is the rigs are not perpendicular to the post, ~15° tilt! I was able to bend them straight but c'mon! This is welding 101….
2 stars because I was able to make it work.
Second time I bought some of these, they were perfectly on time and in great shape. We are already using them. Thanks Much.

rings are always bigger than expected and they are usually wrapped with a piece of leather or latex. this is very common in all chemistry equipment dating back to the dawn of time.Published 4 months ago by Ishi Y.
Ordered a funnel with this and after 2 broken funnels I'm stuck with this and funnel for it!Published 9 months ago by Charles L Hendricks
A great find for a basic chem lab. This is heavy enough for most of the basic chem labs I do with my kids. Would like it to be a bit taller, though, just a personal preference.Published 11 months ago by Rebecca Hall
Quality Stand, Get It.
A Double Pole Stand would be Best for a Distillation Manifold.
