About the Author

Stephanie Yuhas is an award-winning writer and producer. She's most well-known for her work on the reboot of Mystery Science Theater 3000 (Netflix) and Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie (Cinemassacre).
After graduating with honors from the University of the Arts, she co-founded Project Twenty1, a 501(c)3 arts organization and Cinevore Studios, a boutique production company that specializes in smart comedy. Stephanie has worked with companies like HBO Max, Amazon Studios, Warner Bros Worldwide Home Video, A&E Studios, Atlas Entertainment, and more. She has studied at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) and was the 2019 Women in Animation (WIA) mentee at Netflix.
She has been married to science fiction/comedy writer, Matt Conant, since 2013. In her spare time, she enjoys loves traveling to off-beat destinations via Atlas Obscura, gifting strangers #RandomActsofFlowers, and making way too much soup (just like her Nagymama.)

Winner, 2015 Nancy Pearl Award for Best Memoir - PNWA (Pacific Northwest Writer's Association)Praise for American Goulash  "Talk about growing up in a pressure cooker! A poignant recipe for laughter and tears."--Gene (E.C.) Ayres, writer for The Smurfs and Dennis the Menace"Stephanie's entertaining and consistently hilarious memoir evokes the best of David Sedaris, by way of Freaks & Geeks - with a dash of Transylvania 6-5000 and a hint of lime."--Derek Dressler, Executive Producer for DreamWorks Animation; Emmy Award-winning writer of Disney's Mickey Mouse shorts "The bad thing about American Goulash is that you wish Stephanie Yuhas was sitting with you over coffee sharing these stories. Reading it is the next best thing. If you feel like an outsider, she is here to tell you in her touching and funny memoir that you're not alone. Yuhas is a wonderful storyteller."--Mary Jo Pehl, actress/writer for Mystery Science Theater 3000           "American Goulash is a thoughtful and entertaining depiction of a first-generation American living    amidst old-world sensibilities. With poise, intellect, and unrelenting cheer, Stephanie Yuhas paints negative life events into engaging life lessons. If you wonder how this young lady can be so well adjusted, remember that diamonds are born under pressure."--David Conant, executive director of WRTI public radio "It's funny, sentimental, and just an all-around great read!"--David Goodman, writer/reviewer for Geekadelphia  "What the hell is goulash?"--James Rolfe, actor/director for Angry Video Game Nerd --This text refers to an alternate kindle_edition edition.
