I think this book is great! It's packed with history and photograghs-most of them in color. The quilts are beautiful with templates and sewing hints that are easy to understand. Patchwork, applique, log cabin-there is a little of everything.

It is a wonderful book - I've had it for years and only purchased another copy because my original one went missing. The history part is well written and comprehensive, with multiple photos, the quilts are exquisite, and detailed and accurate patterns are provided for quite a number of them. There's also a how-to section for beginners - a bit dated (the book was after all published in 1993), but very usefulfor the hand-piecer. A valuable addition to any quilt lover's library.
