In the most recent independent MaP (Maximum Performance) tests, the Cadet 3 Flushing System received the highest possible rating, handling 1,000 grams of solid waste in a single flush. This means you can count on your Cadet 3 toilet for dependable one-flush performance.
Cadet 3's smart gravity design delivers higher performance with fewer clogs. Engineered for a stronger, more reliable flush, the Cadet 3 Flushing System means you don't have to flush twice, yet each flush uses 20 percent less water than standard low-consumption 1.6-gallons-per-flush toilets, saving you water and money.
Extra-Wide Three-Inch Flush Valve
Cadet 3 toilets feature a large, chemical-resistant flush valve that allows more water to enter the bowl more quickly, creating a cleaner flush. It won't warp or distort like ordinary flappers, and the three-inch opening allows water to flow into the bowl over 80 percent faster than a standard two-inch flush valve.
2-1/8-Inch Siphon Trapway
With a larger diameter than the industry standard, Cadet 3 toilets have a fully glazed siphon trapway. This trapway features no choke points and a two-inch ball pass to help prevent clogging, which means it can move a 60 percent larger mass than a standard two-inch trapway.
Treated inside and out, Cadet 3 tanks and bowls feature a permanent EverClean surface. This system incorporates a patented silver-ion additive right into the material to protect it from mold, mildew, algae, and fungus that could cause deterioration or staining. You'll love how the mirror-like EverClean surface is easy to keep clean and stays cleaner longer, even after years of use.
Five-Year Worry-Free Warranty
The Cadet 3 FloWise Elongated Two-Piece Toilet is backed by a five-year warranty that covers everything inside and out.

We have the "bone" color. I was concerned it would be too brown, but it really just looks like a subtle off-white shade to me.
Our flange bolts are 13.5 inches from the wall, so there is about 2" of space behind the tank. Unfortunately, that's wasted space in our small bathroom. I had tried a 14" rough-in 1.6 gpf Cadet 3 (#2383.014.020), but that did not fit against the wall.
I did some initial testing with the tank lid off. The tank holds close to 2 gallons of water, so not all of that water is used during a normal 1.28-gallon flush. I think the extra height of water is just there to provide extra head pressure when you flush. Here's the secret: If you feel you've presented a particular challenge to your toilet, you can hold the flush lever down for a couple seconds, and it will use ALL of the water in the tank for a flush that should handle ANY challenge. So far I haven't felt like I needed to use that option, but it's like having one of those fancy "dual-flush" toilets!
July 2012 update. After 6 months of use, I'm still VERY happy with this toilet. An unnamed family managed to clog it once with a mountain of toilet paper. Incomplete flushes are very rare.
OK, this got me going and I just called American Standard and spoke with Ashley. She was extremely helpful and is sending two more complete in tank mechanisms to see if that solves the problem. She also said it'd possible the hole for the seat bolt was drilled crooked and was willing to send a new toilet. I said not at this point but thanks. Let's hope the new insides do the job. Looks like customer service at American Standard is great.
They're fairly quiet flushers, flush almost instantly, and don't seem to have any trouble with anything I've fed them so far.
They're also quite easy to install.
My only possible complaint is that the seat that comes with it is not very comfortable and is just cheap plastic. I'm not docking a star, though, because I imagine that's pretty standard. The seats on my old toilets weren't any better. I'll be buying new seats soon.
Too little water in the bowel after eah flush. This means you have to clean the bowel too often. So if you have a toilet that works keep it. Too many new ones just don't work well.
