The story introduces Carl Johnson, who is a regular guy living a normal life, but then his world turns upside down when the homeland security team captures him and tortures him for kidnapping a high profile girl. However, Carl has never met the girl and so he ends up escaping the security team, but in order to get out of the mess he has to do one thing – find the girl before they find him again.
Poston did a wonderful job with this book and has definitely made a book worthy of being read again. Hopefully, this turns into a movie someday.
That being said, this book was such a page turner. The writing style makes it simple to sit down and read this book in one or two sittings (if you’re lucky). Everything seems to fly by thanks to all of the action. The story line was well thought out and I couldn’t help but root for Johnson throughout the book.
The book features just about anything you’d want in a read. Believable dialogue, a strong voice, quick wit and humor and plenty of action. I’d recommend it to anyone who loves dramas, thrillers, mysteries…well anything. Just read it, it’s a statement of the time.
