First of all, it's pretty small. While this is handy in most situations, it also leads to the only minor complaint that I had: the scale itself is so small that it becomes harder to measure some foodstuffs without the powders and pellets falling off the edge. It would be nice if there were a lip around the perimeter to prevent the weighed items from spilling over. Moreover, there is a bit of space that would allow smaller items and powders to fall beneath the scale platform. Luckily, I was measuring out hop pellets for use in a home-brew recipe, and though they rolled off fairly easily, they were not small enough to fall underneath the scale, entirely, just off the edge onto the counter. This problem would be solved, of course, by using a container (see below), but even then, I had trouble finding a container that was both small enough and light enough that it would do the job without getting me too close to the 100 gram limit.
I might consider investing in a 100g weight, but I didn't want to wait for the additional shipping on that item, so I used 40 pennies to calibrate it, and it seemed to do the trick (e.g. I had what my supply store said was 1 oz, and those pellets weighed right about 28.4 g after calibration.
The tare function on the scale is rather intuitive and very functional. As noted above, the only containers I have are, apparently, somewhat dense (and large) for this scale; I should have considered this before I bought a scale with a 100 g weight max, but I really liked the precision of this one and most of the time I am measuring only a few ounces or less of hops.
There is a fold-over lid that latches into place. This protects the scale itself from being jostled or damaged when you move it. It appears to do a very good job.
The directions are printed on the inside of the lid, which makes for easy reference. However, it is so intuitive you will likely only need to read them once. Even calibrating the scale is not very difficult.
The LCD screen is very legible.
Two batteries were enclosed; they were inserted into the battery slots, but there was a plastic strip between one battery and the node to prevent draining the battery during transit. It worked pretty much straight out of the box (though it did require 40 pennies or 20 nickels or a 100 g calibration weight).
I will update if further experience warrants.
This little scale fit into my shirt pocket with no problem. As delivered, this model claims it does not need calibration right away. I checked it anyway and found that each of the two 100 gm calibration weights measured about 0.08 gm high. That's a pretty small difference, 0.08 percent. I don't know if the calibration weights are a teeny bit heavy or if the scale measurement was a teeny bit off (0.08 gm is a very small weight). But since I got the same answer for both weights, I decided to recalibrate the scale using them. I'm not sure whether I would trust this scale, or any other low cost scale for that matter, if I had to have precise measurements that I completely trusted, I think then I would opt for a scale and calibration weights whose accuracy was traceable to a standards lab. But they are much more expensive.
I wanted this scale for two main reasons, weighing letters up to 3.5 ounces and weighing small model railroad cars. I have a lot of z-scale model railroad cars. Z-scale is very small, about 3/4 the size of the more common N-scale. Cars weigh about 10-20 grams. They operate better if cars weigh about the same. I can now check my cars and add small weights to balance things out. I can also see some use for checking the weight of some jewelry I have from my late wife. I need to get some of this appraised and knowing the weight in advance may prove useful. I tried weighing several small items and some model railroad cars and was happy with the speed and ease of doing so. It will take a while to see how the scale holds up over time, but I am happy with it and highly recommend it to anyone who needs to measure small weights.
This model is too small to use much for weighing diet portions of food. An ounce is 28.35 grams, so this is only good to 3.5 ounces. For that you probably need a 500 gm model.

Whilst they can be used to measure as low as 0.01g a minimum weight of 0.05g is required before it starts to work; if this is an issue simply place around 1g of sugar on the scales before you start and subtract 1g from your final weight. The other issue is that if nothing is added within around 1minute they will often turn off and reset which can be a pain when trying to accurately measure out very small weights.
It seems to be a quality product and it seems good. Although I have not used it to actually weigh anything that I want to know the weight of yet. But I have tried it by weighing some pieces of plastic and a pen. I don't have a super expensive and super accurate scale to compare the weight with so I have no idea how accurate this scale is. It says in the manual that the acceptable tolerance is 0.02 grams so I think that is how accurate it is. I suggest not taking the last digit too seriously when weighing. I mean look at it and then think it's probably that +/- 0.02 grams.
This is my first pocket scale so I don't have anything to compare it to.
One thing I think should be mentioned in the description is that you will probably need a 100 gram calibration weight. I thought I needed a calibration weight but I could not find any information anywhere on how much that weight should weigh. So I had to wait until I got the scale by mail and read the manual.
One thing I don't like about this scale is that there is a gap between the sensor plate and the base of the scale. When you look you can see the electronics or whatever it is in there. I can imagine it's very easy to get dust and pieces of all kinds of stuff in there and that does not seem good at all. There is no way to get dust out except blowing into the gap or shaking the scale. I would definately have preferred a scale without that gap, a dustproof scale. I have no idea if it is common for pocket scales to be like this or not. Just be aware of it because you can't see it in the pictures.
It took 8 days from I placed the order until I got the item in the mail here in Sweden.
