Today I discovered that for weights above ~ 85 lb, the scale is inaccurate.
Up to ~80 lb the weights indicated by the H-110 track with a similar product.
Data I've been collecting with it for the past month has been mostly garbage.
I would rather the scale had not worked at all than have it lie to me in a portion of it's advertised operating range.
Battery life was satisfactory.
Coin batteries are cheap when you buy a large enough quantity from a source on the web.
I'd rather it had used AAA batteries because I would use rechargables in it.
Durability was OK.
Scale visibility was pretty good. (better than the one I'm using now)
The inaccuracy trumps all its good features. I have to give it thumbs down.
5/16/13 -- I took the back cover off of the scale today. There I discovered that an "L" shaped mechanical component had bent/deformed so that now it (that faulty part) "bottoms out" against the frame. That's why the scale failed to reach its rated load.
The part was too weak; it bent when the scale was loaded to around 100 lb.
It's a manufacturing defect (of this production lot???). Either the designer didn't specify a sufficiently strong part, or the contract manufacturer skimped on materials.
This scale has been a welcome surprise for accuracy. I did not have high expectations going in, and would have been happy if this were a tad outside of the tolerances for lighter objects under 2lbs and heavier ones over, say, 90lbs... but as usual with American Weigh scales, this one exceeded my expectations.
I own many scales, and have a myriad of different calibration weights. Even with as litlle as 1-2 lbs, this scale reads right where it should. The error is small enough, and definitely withing the .05 tolerance it is sold at, that I typically feel confident in what I am reading whether it is 2 lbs or 40 lbs on the hook.
For the price paid, I would recommend this scale to anyone looking for a versatile, cheap and durable scale for their needs. As always, those seeking accuracy to the gram level would need to look elsewhere. This is my fifth AWS scale, and I have been happy with every one of them. Plus, AWS has a ten year warranty, and if you ever call the company, you get a person (I got Kevin twice) who is friendly, knowledgeable and will take whatever time you need.
Would buy this again.

Simple and accurate scale. I take the battery out when storing for more than a few weeks.Published 9 days ago by Discerning Customer
I like this scale except for one very undesirable flaw. This scale eats batteries even when it's turned off. I replaced the original batteries when the unit failed to turn on. Read morePublished 29 days ago by Lawrence A Woodhill
