A review of America's Dialogue with the World follows:
This collection of a dozen essays by noted experts in public diplomacy and allied fields presents a compelling case about the importance of "winning hearts and minds" around the world. The book also provides some excellent examples of how this difficult task was accomplished in the past and how it might be done in the future. This is an essential work for any student of foreign policy or for anyone interested in how America can do a better job of communicating with and listening to the world.
As one professor/reviewer noted: "This volume fills an obvious void in the academic literature relating to U.S. foreign policy...[that] accurately reflects the Washington policy community's lack of interest in the subject. This collection of essays will help members of both communities to understand why public diplomacy matters, and when it is likely to work."
Five stars (*****). The book is now in its second edition.

Editorial Reviews
From the Back Cover
"So what is standing in the way of the dialogue between America and the rest of the world, a dialogue that we all wish to see established and thriving? Perhaps it is that, while we so often say that "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure", we do not act as though we believe it."
