This book is an amazing amalgam of interesting and beautiful photographs of our national parks and very short passages describing the types of parks and interesting features of each park described. At first I thought it was just a lovely coffee table book, but I have learned so much about the parks by paging through, I now consider it a painless history/geography lesson! I highly recommend this book!

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2017This book has lots of pictures, but doesn't have a lot of description about each one. We had a hard time figuring out exactly where some of them were located since the parks were categorized by the area of the country in which they are located. We never found an alphabetical index for the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2013IF YOU LIKE TO EXPLORE AMERICA, THE BEST WAY IS VISITING OUR NATIONAL PARKS. THEY ARE AWESOME. THIS BOOK WAS A GIFT FOR MY HUSBAND.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2013A lot of pictures with a single comment about each one. Provides extremely little information that someone planning a trip to the parks would find useful. Try Fodor's Guide to the parks of the West.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2013I was disappointed in the limited information contained in this book. I has a lot of glossy pictures without much text and only covers the most popular national parks.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2013contains nice photos.. not really a "guide' as advertised. word requirement.... dumb requirement. That's why I don't bother do to this
