What I don't like is when she uses nursery rhymes in her songs.... then I think - God, couldn't you think of something more creative than that? "I see Paris, I see France, I can see your underpants" What's next? Ring around the Rosy? Also, a pet peeve, is when lyrics in the CD aren't the lyrics that she's singing and I think, God, were you so high during the recording sessions you couldn't remember the actual original lyrics? (Or whatever yahoo who put the CD together forgot to check if the lyrics were correct before typesetting went to final print - oh yeah, and forgot to check to see if the people could actually read it without a magnifying glass - come on! white itty bitty print on pale pink... that was pretty lame...why even include lyrics if you can barely read them?). Either way, it's irritating. Sunset Strip is such an amazing perfect song, and the lyrics are NOT what's listed, and her wonderful emotion laden screaming them doesn't make them any easier to understand. (Well, damn, I like knowing the lyrics!)
Still love the CD, it rocks from beginning to end. Yep, she's still the same, and unfortunately hasn't gotten past the same old subjects, her battle with fame, drugs, sex and rock and roll... (I can almost hear her saying, "what else is there?")
and I still think her lyrics in "I'll Do Anything" that say
"someday my prince will come, but man, he's just too late" should be "someday my prince will come, but man, he's just a lay." (that sounds more like her hard a** attitude!)
Well, we all like a little vicarious trash in our mundane 9-5 lives, but it does make those of us who enjoy your music worry a bit. Maybe it's time to slow down? Oh, well, doubt that's going to happen. What can I say...keep on rolling Courtney, as long as you can, as you say.... till the wheels fall off....
