I'll mention the bad first - this figure is extremely limited in its articulation. The right arm only moves at the shoulder, and the left is only jointed above the elbow. This makes it tricky for her to hold the Globe of Peace. Also, the post holes on the feet were added at the absolute top of the high heels, out of reach of the posts on the stand she came with. I also tried it with different stands and got the same result.
The good - This is a very faithful and quite lovely rendition of Queen Amidala in Episode I, during the final celebration when peace is made with the Gungans. The white dress underneath is made with soft goods, while the external cloak and (I guess I'd call it) peacock collar are made from exquisitely detailed and painted plastic. This actually works out for the best, because the cloak helps the figure to remain standing, with or without a stand. The likeness of Natalie Portman and her makeup from that scene are also very well sculpted.
In a nutshell, this figure could have been even better, but I'm very happy to have it in my collection.
If you're not a serious collector or you're just picking this up for a kid, I'd order one and save the hassle of driving from store to store.
