This is a book of wisdom on how and why the Amish do what they do. It is a practical guide for the modern day life. We don't have to give up the benefits of technology to live a better balanced life. Don't just read and be amazed by the simple wisdom...let it change the way you live life...a little less stressed, more balanced and full of joy.
I strongly recommend this book if you are looking for:
1. A greater insight into the Amish way of life
2. A way to live in a simpler manner in today's world
3. An appreciation for a people of faith who deeply embrace their faith in all parts of their lives with a quiet serenity and joy.
As other reviewers have said this book could be read as a devotional.
Better than that, she is one of the few people who understands them and appreciates
the Amish peoples amazing wisdom.
She writes about the Amish people with the respect that they deserve.
I would simply say that she is one of the best writers of the Amish people that you can read.
This book is extraordinary. It goes very in depth, speaking of things you may have never known about the Amish.
One of my all time favourites.
I see things differently now. The teachings of Christ are more real because of the examples of a people living their faith and believing and trusting in God. With this trust comes peace.
Highly recommend this beautiful book.
