Their Two Worlds Couldn't Be Further Apart.
Can Anything Bridge the Divide Between Them?
For years Zane Beck and his Amish neighbor Lila Lehman were the best of friends. But just as Zane gathered the courage to discover if their friendship could develop into something more, her controlling father arranged for her to be courted by their bishop's son. Zane, heartbroken and frustrated, joined the Army, running away from his shattered dreams.
The passing of time and the distance between Zane and Lila haven't been enough to halt their--now completely hidden--feelings for each other. Any hope for their love grows even more impossible though as Zane's service takes a dangerous turn when he's deployed to Afghanistan. Being on the frontline, confronted with the hard choices of war, has him questioning everything, including whether he can continue to serve or not. But all choices have consequences, and with Lila preparing to marry another, will these one-time sweethearts ever find the life together that they both still long for?
"Gould writes in a way that feels true to life and allows her characters to have real emotions, which endears them to readers. Amish Sweethearts is a sweet novel, leaving readers excited about the next book in the series."--RT Book Reviews

With the passage of time and distance between them, have their feelings for each other dimmed? It would seem so as we find Zane home on leave, facing deployment to Afghanistan, and Lila about to marry the bishop’s son. Or is there still hope for them to have a life together as they longed for years ago? This hope they once had seems to have faded as Zane goes off to fight in a war that has him questioning whether the life of a soldier is really something he can participate in. And as Lila plans her wedding to Reuben, is she willing to commit her life to a man she may not love. These are questions both of them have to answer before either one of them can find happiness. Will that happiness be together?
Leslie Gould is a very gifted writer . In both books in this series, there was never a dull moment. Her character development is rich & surprises await around each corner.
Not so much drama is involved that it seems fake--yet enough excitement occurs to keep things interesting, yet practical .
I bought the kindle versions & was well pleased .
