The first "new" one I received had clearly been opened and was missing the package inserts and materials. A quick email to amazon had a new one en route. I wanted to like this, but unfortunately the sealed one gave me a clue why someone had returned the one I received first. This device was literally no stronger than a cheap linksys extender. I know because I tried one of those as well. I thought being powerful I would be able to reach an out building about 75-100 feet from the primary router, but I was dead wrong. It had the same signal strength as a Comcast cable provided modem/router combo. We have since returned both units that we received, and purchased some Ubiquiti NanoStations and set up a point-to-point quite successfully. Even one Ubiquiti NanoStation M2 or M5 would work much better as an extended access point, in my opinion. Save yourself the headache and avoid this device.

There was no way to have wired line without breaking building codes(unless breaking the concrete). Have bought about 3 extender to install my security cam in the garage. Failed, Failed and Failed. Then bought this router by reading some juicy comments online. Watching my 4 year old playing in the backyard online at work! No problem. Good reception(99% of the time, that's why 4 star).

I recently purchased an AMPED REA20. It works great and was extremely easy to set up. I bought this after having struggled getting two different Linksys extenders up and to keep running. I returned both thanks to Amazon's great return policy on defective product returns. I called AMPED with a question after I set it up, I had the pleasure of speaking to David - Concierge #144. He not only was polite, answered in just a few minutes, treated me like I was his only customer but waited as I made sure everything was working correctly. This is an excellent product that covers both bands, unlike Linksys where you have to but two units to do this. I have has serious problems with Linksys support and was TOTALLY SURPRISED AND SATISFIED with the quality of support and quality of this product. It truly was easy to set up as they claim! I recommend this product to everyone!

Quick, easy wifi fix that works!

I had some bad dead zones in my house! I just installed a wifi garage motor and unfortunately, my garage had little to no wifi. Also the Xbox is in the basement which was another bad spot. I read all the reviews and went with this model and I'm very happy. It took less than 5 minutes to set up and it has made all the difference - no more dead zones. It even extends all the way to the back of my yard which also happens to be where the pool is so now music can stream loud and clear which is an added bonus. Very clear, easy directions, making it a breeze to be the wifi hero of your house. And with a house full of teenagers, I'll take it.

I am torn after 30 days

This is my second Amped Wireless device. I owned the Rec10 before which was very slow and would drop signal. Surprisingly, I have not noted an increase in speed of download vs. the Rec10. What I don't have anymore is a dropped signal. At least for me, that has been constant with this unit. The range is decent but weirdly, I can't get areas of my house that I could get before?

With the Rec10, when it was not dropping the signal, I could get the signal on my front porch. Now, I get it, but it frequently slows down in the searching for the signal. It does not drop, but this is annoying when trying to watch a video or read on my iPad Air. With the Rec10, I could get my dining room and now I can't. I would love to get my deck but I can't while I can get my garage a floor below.

In my house, the WAP router is upstairs, my office is downstairs and the kids and wife use the router upstairs when connecting; i.e, in their bedrooms or at the iMac in the upstairs office. However none of them use the 700m for connection. It is in my office downstairs.

Once you get through to someone, the customer service is great; the setup easy, which is what I really like about Amped. It also has a great diagnostic capability of your computer(s) wifi signals.

At the moment, I am torn; I have had the unit just over 30 days (11 Nov) and am considering the Bear Extender, which has a smaller footprint (although this unit is not obtrusive) and maybe faster downloads and wifi reach. I am researching my options now.
