Skye’s burden is the worst as she has seen their deaths. Can these deaths even be stopped? The group flee to Scotland in the hope they can gain a speck of knowledge in an attempt to stop what could possible turn into Doomsday.
Not only was this book a dream to read, but I also learnt quite a bit about Druids (I’m a paranormal fan but don’t really know much about Druids). The beautiful descriptions of Scotland are just wonderful, wishing I was there. Reading this story has your heart beating in overdrive as scream along with the characters. It’s exciting, witty, great humor, (wait till you get to the Library Scene with Skye and an old man, HILLARIOUS, especially loved the sarcasm) and Scorching Hot Romance is just Yum Yum. There also seems to be something blossoming between Lizzie and James or is there?
Forewarning though, the book ends in a Mother of a cliff hanger!!!! Broke or not, I’m getting book 3.
Ok, so like I mentioned before this is a story set in our world, but in an alternate version with a paranormal twist :) Skye, the main heroine is a Seer... what it means, is that she can See how other people will die... all that she needs is to get close to someone, touch them, and it can trigger a vision... so naturally, she steers clear from people, cause it's hard to make friends when you can see when and how people will die... when she meets detective Lucas MacConnell she wants to follow the same rule... he does not make it easy on her... ;) fascinated by the mysterious woman, Lucas wants to get to know her more :) when an accidental touch triggers a vision of death all about his sister, Skye wants to help him... because something *clicked* between them from that very first meeting... what they don't know is that their meeting will have much bigger consequences than they originally think... the whole series is co-written by two authors, but you don't feel like the story is chopped or anything like that... quite the opposite, it flows effortlessly and is full of action and surprising twists :) I highly recommend you guys this entertaining read if you haven't checked it out yet :) besides our main duo, we have a few secondary characters that you guys will immediately fall in love with, but I don't want to ruin a few surprises, so no more details from me ;) instead let me jump to the actual review of this second installment ;)
Last warning people, there will be SPOILERS from the first book, because I am assuming that all of you who are still reading this, are familiar with the events of that previous story... seriously, I will mention things that were surprising and I don't want to ruin anything for you, so proceed the reading with caution... ;) ok, I have warned you as much as I could have :) this second book picks almost immediately after the first installment... Lucas and Skye, as well as Lizzie and James are in Scotland, hiding away in the home of the grandfather of MacConnell siblings, trying to figure out how to defeat the evil druid who wants to kill them all and take Skye as his weird prize... add to that the fact that Lucas has apparently some powers of his own and it's all a dangerous combination... again, a lot of things happen for such a short book ;) it's a story full of surprising turns... a few of them I definitely did not see coming... there was a full on gasp of shock or two ;) #TrueStory :) we got to know more details and history about our characters... see a little bit more romance... which I was a fan of, but still felt that some things felt a bit rushed... but on the other hand when you are in such a dangerous situation and don't know exactly how much time you have, maybe you tend to make decisions faster than normally... ;) and speaking of decisions... I definitely wasn't a fan of some of them that our characters made... I'm looking at you Skye specifically right now, but it's ok... I don't have to agree with everything to enjoy the story :) and I did really liked it :) I gave it 4,5 stars, becuase once again it was a very entertaining and fast paced read... not to mention the cliffhanger at the ending... yeah, I'm telling you right now, be prepared to stop yourself from flinging the book at the wall :) it's brutal ;) but from what I'm hearing, the third and final book will be out sometime in march, so pretty soon :) fingers crossed it won't be delayed, because I don't know about all of you, but I am definitely curious how this story will end :)
Skylar can’t seem to stop seeing her visions play out before her, but luckily these aren’t reality just yet, but there seems to be something happening that she can’t put her finger on. Currently on the way to Scotland to see if they can get the answers they need to get ahead, Skylar knows that they don’t have much time. But whilst being there they are tested, Lucas and his sister learns of secrets within their family and things are never the same. Skylar can only see two ways in which could help all of them, either stay with Lucas and fight or disappear and hope that nothing happens to them….
