Aaron is back together with the Arcoverdes. Well... for the most part. Aaron is a man who constantly self-destructs by doing the first thing that comes to mind. This time in Brazil, the issue is once more of multiple conflicts. Do we honor our traditions to the folly of our future? Do we honor the wishes of our host and the woman that we love? Do we risk ourselves to help remove a criminal overlord with a "Deity" complex? How should you fight a more athletic opponent where your strength plays into their game plan? And, as always in the Woodshed series, Who do we trust?

The writing is more refined, and the maturity of Aaron's character is clearly growing. I read this in a day and I tried to extend it as long as I could because I'll be a junkie awaiting my next fix. Anaconda Choke gives the feel and excitement that you've come to love in the series and an exotic flare in the locale of Rio and the surrounding areas. I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Growing up, I had two hobbies. The first was reading men's action adventure novels (Mack Bolan, Phoenix Force, Able Team, etc). The second was marial arts. In my imagined perfect world, the ideal combination would have been an action adventure novel that heavily featured martial arts / hand to hand combat. Ladies and gentlemen....THIS series is the one I was looking for.

I have truly enjoyed this series from Day 1, and this story is no exception. Aaron "Woodshed" Wallace makes a brutal return to the cage and the streets here, with fight scenes galore. His crass sense of humor and hardheaded attitude are intact and on bold display, as are his martial art and street fighting skills. Woodshed is the kind of guy we all wish we could be....supremely confident in his abilitites, absolutely able to back up his smart ass mouth with his hands, and utterly fearless. Taking him out of his Las Vegas element and putting him in Rio was a great idea, and the story line was well executed. Lots of subplots and sidebars going on, winding up to a great finish, that almost left me feeling a little sad for Aaron. (By the way, Mr. Brown....I know he's written that way, but I absolutely HATE Eddie. I want to kill him myself, most days.) SPOILER ALERT: If I had even one complaint, it would be that the Aviso character didn't get humiliated enough, and I would have liked to have read his reaction to the beating he took. I don't know where the story may go from here, but I do hope there will be more chapters in the Woodshed Wallace series. Had this series been around 20 years ago, my only complaint about it would have been the same one I have now....Mr Brown doesn't write them quickly enough.

This author, Jeremy Brown, is a master story teller who keeps his readers on the edge with plot and character twists and turns. However, the long line of this third book in the series of Woodshed Wallace is the value and complexity of family. Woody is a complex, beat up kind of guy. What he lacks in stature of talent he makes up in GRIT and hard work. Marcela simply loves Woody. They have families and they become family. When Jeremy Brown puts us on the edge, we can look out and see the beauty of people who discover and grow each other. Yes, you pulse will accelerate but you will feel your heartstrings tugged too.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written MMA fight thriller book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great MMA fight thriller movie, or mini TV series. A very easy rating of 5 stars.

Woody and his fight family, the Arcoverdes, move with the action from the glitz of the Vegas octagons to the grit of the streets of Brazil, where hidden and not so hidden dangers wait to destroy Woody and all he holds dear. This is one of my favorite action series because author Jeremy Brown understands what it means to have a 'fighter's heart' ... what fighting actually means beyond physical contact, beyond winning, and into a much wider philosophy. In Anaconda Choke both the character of Woodshed Wallace and his creator come of age ...
