Trevor Jones is a structural engineer at CH2M Hill, a Fortune 500 engineering/construction company. He is currently serving as department manager and has served as a group leader on many commercial and industrial projects. He has a master's degree from Clemson University, where he focused his studies on structural engineering. At Clemson, he published a thesis concerning the retrofit of existing residential construction to increase the resistance to hurricane-force winds, as well as aided in the writing and development of several technical papers.

The presentation of the book is nice with pictures and colors.
The contents of the book cover most of the basic requirement for the new student.
However, the steps shown are not complete. The purpose of assign certain assignment also is not really clear.
