So, yeah. This book is really good. All of the characters are interesting, they each have their own plan, and their own outcomes. The scope of the book is pretty big and the whole thing was really fun to read.

Only two things prevented this from being a 5-star review:
1) The book didn't STOP. It felt like there was always some antagonism going on that needed to be dealt with with very few pauses to catch my (mental) breath.
2) The book was too long, even at 353 pages While I absolutely and positively appreciate the skill and ability of the author, I think I just got kind of overwhelmed at points.

I absolutely loved the book, I just had to read it in chunks instead of all at once. Get this and settle in for a really enjoyable ride.

I am, by no means, an expert on contemporary literature. I am, however, a fickle and easily lost reader. Ragnarok never lulled for even an instant to allow me to become disinterested. It is amazingly crafted from a number of genres into a masterpiece of adventure, science fiction, and gut-wrenching, disturbed thrills. Come for the undead, stay for the Nordic fireman robot.
