I bought this cd right after seeing them in concert on the electric youth tour. i already had the self titled cd but the songs in concert were mostly off of this cd. i figured "hey i really like those songs, i need to get this" i've had it for about 7 months now and i still listen to it constantly. here is the breakdown:
1: Kick-Off.....the great intro to a great cd..4 out of 5
2: Pressing On......the catchy tune will have you singing it for days and the rock driven guitar is great.......4 out of 5
3: Sadie Hawkins Dance.......One of the reasons I even thought about buying this cd, i love the oh, oh, oh!......5 out of 5
4: Down in Flames......great song all around, nothing really sticks out about it though......4 out of 5
5: Maybe Its Maybeline.....another expected refernece to name brand or pop culture, it was needed though, especially in this great song.....4 out of 5
6: Breakdown.....joke about the relient k car turned strong message....5 out of 5
7: Those Words Are Not Enough.....i had never heard this song before i bought the cd but the heartfelt lyrics and good tune made this song quickly become one of my favorites....5 out of 5
8: For the Moments I feel Faint....by far the best song on the album, once again i'd never heard this song, but i loved this song so much, i still do! a great run at a beautiful accoustic song and matt thiessen's vocals ring gorgeously in this song.....5 out of 5
9: I'm Lion-O....my mom makes fun of this song all the time because we have no earthly idea what in the heck it means, but hey! it's still a great song!.....5 out of 5
10: What Have You Been Doing Lately?.....How true is this song? Watching our friends fall from God. A good song all together and i love the guy in the background(ri li!)....

I bought this CD last month after listening to the song samples, and decided I liked them. The song samples are NOTHING compared to the CD.
Kick-off- 4.5 stars - "Here's the kickoff/hope you're not sick of/Relient K/and all the songs we play." Interesting song, nice drums at the start.
Pressing on- 5 stars - "I think we're going somewhere/we're onto something good here/there's only one thing left to do..." AWESOME guitar at the start of this song, I could listen to it all day. Mostly about perseverance. Fast song.
Sadie Hawkins Dance- 5 stars - "Sittin' in the back of my next class nappin'/got up, gave a speech then bowed to the clapping..." A more 'secular' song, still great though. Almost has a click-click-click feel to it on the chorus. It changes speeds a LOT, something I loved.
Down in Flames- 4.8 stars - "Christians/we're all afraid of fire/ we prefer to suck on pacifiers..." Great song, definitely Christian. It criticizes the Christian society for fighting amongst ourselves, while we "eat our own/the bones and all" Another fast song. The chorus is a little bit repetitive, however.
Maybe it's Maybeline- 4 stars - "People make mistakes/find that everything breaks/and it always is the same/gotta find someone to blame..." Another good song, medium speed, about how it's never OUR fault, we're always blaming someone else. Doesn't ALWAYS seem to make sense, though. "Maybe it's maybeline"? (Maybeline=may-bee-leen)
Breakdown- 4.5 stars - "Over lousy excuse for a car/one mile to go but I can't push that far/ I think I've had enough..." Another song about how life seems so unfair, another really good song. The meat of the cd is early on and towards the middle, really.
Those Words Are Not Enough- 4.

Before I bought this CD I downloaded a few of the songs and decided I really liked it. So I went out and bought it, brought it home and listened to it. I love every track on this CD. My favorite song is Failure to Excommunicate and Sadie Hawkins Dance. The lyrics for most of the songs are very catchy and funny. My sister and I listened to this CD all weekend and loved it. A very worthwhile buy. I haven't heard Relient K's first cd, so i can't compare it to this one, but it's very upbeat punk. The lyrics remind me of the Newsboys, but the beat reminds me of MxPx. GO BUY THIS CD!!

This is RK's second album and their third best. Not because of the lack of quality but just because they got even better as their careers progressed. I believe they were all like age 20 when they wrote this yet the music, although poppy, is lyrically and musically superb. Songs like "Pressing On" and "Sadie Hawkin's Dance" are the catchy singles, but it also gets into their Christian roots with "For the Moments I feel Faint" and "Those Words are Not Enough". This cd also shows their humorous side with "May the Horse be with You" and "Maybe its Maybelline". This cd got me hooked on Relient K. It will get you hooked too.

Great for Punk/Pop fans and Christian music fans alike.

Relient K did an awesome job with this CD, and they really get the message across about the Lord. Each song has it's own unique lyrics, and behind those lyrics, a deeper meaning about life. From the fun-loving lyrics of the "Sadie Hawkins Dance," to the meaningful and powerful lyrics of "Failure to Excommunicate," Relient K does a great job at explaining the power of the Lord, in only a way that kids could understand. Although, Relient K may be looked at as just another "pop punk" band, such as New Found Glory and Blink 182, they are not. The songs that they sing have a much deeper meaning about life, and cannot be compared to any other "pop punk" band's lyrics. Relient K sings songs that kids can relate to, not only with their friends and family, but also with their relationship with the Lord. For kids that may not enjoy Christian music, but like listening to punk, this is the perfect CD to better explain Christianity and help them find their way to the Lord. Relient K is a great Christian band, and although they may not be your ordinary "pop punk" band, they are awesome and deserve five stars.
