Disappointed -- No Returns Allowed
I used the topical magnesium lotion for several days as directed, and after the first day, I began to not feel well in my digestive tract. I kept using it, thinking maybe I need to get used to it, but I just felt worse. When I stopped using it, my symptoms cleared up in a day or two. So I wanted to send it back, because of the way I felt on it. When I phoned Environmedia, I was greatly disappointed to hear, "We don't accept returns of opened products. And there is no way this product could have caused your symptoms. We have never heard this from any customer." Really? Well, they just heard it from me. It makes sense to me that topical magnesium gets into your entire body; how else could it work? So it does affect the digestive tract. I can't take magnesium tablets, either. So beware before you buy, that you can't return anything you try. Really disappointed, too, that I couldn't use the product to help alleviate tight, fatigued muscles.

Love this lotion. I love that I can get a much needed supplement of Magnesium through the skin and not by mouth. I've been using for more than a week now and have introduced it to many others also. When I tell them it will stop the pain from arthritis, they want it. I put this on the most critical person ever, my husband, who was amazed that when I put this lotion on his knee that had been bothering him for days and it quit hurting. Now mind you it will take 10-20 minutes for the Magnesium to soak in but then the pain is gone. I didn't think anything would stop the absolute worst arthritis pain in my thumb but it did. WOW!!! I didn't buy this to get rid of my pain but for everything it does. Mainly, I got it for general health and for health problems that I will never have because I am taking the required dose to stave off those illnesses. I discovered this quite by accident and am so glad I did. I am constantly researching or watching for new health products. It seems everyone I know has problems with health issues but why wouldn't we when we cannot eat healthy, nutrient rich foods anymore since there are none in our natural soil, hard to find anything nonGMO so we take it from supplements which are not always readily absorbed by the human body. This lotion has no scent so you will not be walking around smelling like a hospital. It is very moisturizing and good for eczema. My grandsons have issue with eczema and that is one main reason I bought it. I put the lotion directly on their arms and legs and neither one of them complained and even ask for more the next day. The company warns that it could sting so I told them before putting the lotion on but still they did not complain so I know it did not bother them but you might want to heed the warning if you or your child has very bad eczema or psoriasis. This stuff is great!!

Being told my magnesium levels are very low, my doctor reccomended magnesium oil and a soak in the tub with 2 cups of epsom salt(which also contains magnesium) apparently the best way to get magnesuim is through the skin, the largest organ of the body. I also wanted something so I could get magnessium to my body more often. This lotion serves the purpose well. My only complaint is that it dries on the skin with what feels like a matte finish if that makes sense. It feels kind of drying. But I still like it enough to get the extra shot of magnesium in between bath soaks. It is working well to releave the horrible muscle cramps I have had all over my skelatal system and the chilblans on the skin have decreased. The magnesuim is something I will always need, I wonder if it can eventually do anything for my restless leg syndrome,, that would be something if RLS was brought on by extreme deficency as well.

This is one of the more extraordinary lotions so far that I've ever used and I am very picky about lotions. I am an elder woman and my skin has been extra sensitive & dry all of my life. Here is a bit of history of why I am writing this review.

I decided to buy this product because I'd been feeling extra nervous -- a couple of family members recently died -- and I'd been clenching my jaw more. (My jaw clenching or what is known as bruxism, was caused from a misaligned bite after wearing braces.) Just before finding this lotion, I had done some online research and discovered that magnesium not only helps calms the body, it also helps reduce the amount of jaw clenching. So thus the reason I am writing this review. I was and am trying to stop or reduce my own bruxism.

Special Note: I JUST started using this lotion, and I noticed I still continued to clench my teeth. It may be too soon to see if this product helps reduce or stop the clenching. But at least I am experimenting and trying to help reduce this problem eventually somehow. Ultimately, I probably just need to have my jaw bite adjusted by an orthodontist, at a great financial expense to myself and my family. In the meantime, I am enjoying the feeling of this lotion on my skin, whether or not if it helps reduce my bruxism.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you have the time and interest, here is more information that I've written below.
Because of the extra stress my body was experiencing over the death of two family members, I decided I needed more than just drinking a glass of red wine once a day/and laughing alot/and getting enough exercise/and staying away from caffeine&negative people&bad news/and eating more fresh organic foods/and protecting myself from EMFs/and keep on forgiving myself and others/and ... Also, soaking in relaxing hot baths in Uncle Harry's Detox Bath powder, which is Five Stars Fantastic by the way, was not enough to stop or reduce my jaw clenching. --- I sat down and concentrated some more and came up with an imaginative idea (or possibly just fantasy & wishful thinking) that I could put magnesium directly on my jaws, where it needed it most. This may be an ineffective way of using magnesium for bruxism, but I imagined that I could topically use magnesium instead of, or in supplement to, the other forms, like tablets, drinking powders or bath powders, which I have and currently still all use. After my "Aha!" moment, I went online and found that this kind product was and is already available - a topical magnesium lotion! How Cool.
Next, I carefully looked over the selections on Amazon.com, and chose the magnesium "lotion" over the magnesium "gel". I did this because after reading the product descriptions of both, the lotion was described as being easier on sensitive skin -- the lotion can be left on the skin, while the gel often times needs to be washed off after maybe around 20 minutes -- washing the gel off helps reduces the chance of a rash developing. Another family member - with much tougher skin than I - uses the gel. When I used this lotion for the first time on my face, there was an almost immediate mild sensation of stinging. It lasted just short of a couple of minutes. I kept checking and feeling for a rash on my face, but this did not happen at all, so I left this lotion on all day. And it easily stayed on all day too.
Just so you all here can know, a third family member, also with less sensitive skin than myself, uses this lotion without any stinging at all. This same family member remarks that "this lotion is the best lotion I've ever used - the magnesium is extra". This was said because "it goes on well, stays on long, feels good and has no scent". The lotion also has a silky, yet very subtle fine powdery feeling to us both.
A Special Note: Eventhough my skin is dry and I normally prefer much more moisturizing lotions as a result, this finely powdery lotion was not uncomfortably drying to my skin. It is soothing and my skin does not itch with this lotion on it.
All three of us adults family members here just started the magnesium skin products - two of us use the lotion and one of uses the gel. Every now and then, we are also rubbing the lotion into the skin of a couple of younger family members who are ages 2 and 5 years old. This is see if this products helps them naturally relax more or if they receive any other benefits. I'll keep a close watch and observe if we can feel more relaxed or not because of using these products. I'll give it some time, and I will come back here to revise this review in awhile.
By the way, I purchased my bottle of lotion from Health2UWellness, and the customer service was extraordinary as well.
As magnesium (supplement) lotions go, this one is quite acceptable. All the lotions and creams leave an unpleasantly sticky and/or gritty residue, which can easily be washed off after the magnesium is absorbed in about a half-hour. And, the lotions and creams also seem to bother some people with tingling or stinging sensations, too. I'm not bothered by those sensations, but have found I much prefer taking chelated magnesium (Bluebonnet) capsules as a supplement, since it's more convenient and does the trick just as effectively and also without causing GI issues. If you have to use a topical product, though, this one would be an acceptable choice.
