Andersen Split Arm Operator .The Anderson windows we have were installed in 1995 .Over the years the operators gave out one by one until finally my wife gave me the order to replace the operators .I keep putting it off until last month .I checked around and found Amazon had the ones we needed and at the best price ,so I ordered one at first than 3 others for four windows in the kitchen .The operators are so ez to install no problem eve my 10 year Grandson was able to install the last one with very little help form me .If you need these get them highly recommended Thanks for reading my review
Update 7/19; After a little over a month of light usage, the crank shaft popped through the casting just like the old original did. This seems to be a design flaw in the way the crank shaft is retained by the casting. I must have gotten one which was defective as well as i have installed a number of these recently which are working perfectly. After a great deal of effort, i got Anderson to replace the defective part (it was over the 30 day Amazon return period).
One thing i would highly recommend is cleaning and lubricating all the moving parts of the window prior to installation of a new mechanism. I did that with all of mine and the windows now work better than new.
Just remember to keep your handle, mine removed via the set screw, and use it on your new operator, as it doesn't not come with a handle. I will touch up the paint next time the window needs it. (I am getting quite handy, also replaced the cartridge in the Delta sink faucet recently. :0)
