i had to come back and edit my review. It was the best electric hot comb I had ever had until it stopped working after only 3 uses. I just bought it 5 weeks ago. I tried to call in to have the issue resolved but I didn’t feel like the gas and cost to drive to a shipment store and ship the defective comb back was worth even the comb itself.

I really feel like I may have been sold a refurbished comb in the first place because 5 wks of ownership and only 3 uses when I have never dropped or mistreated the comb is ridiculous.

It’s a great comb, if it works. If it doesn’t work just throw it away. Dealing with Andis’ customer service isn’t worth the headache they’ll give you. The warranty is useless considering the comb isn’t even worth the trouble they’ll put you through to have it replaced. And I’m betting the replacement will be a refurbished comb as well.

Not good on African American hair at all. It doesn’t get hot, did nothing for my hair at all. I could actually hold the comb part in my hand on the highest heat for as long as I wanted because it’s not hot.

If you know how to do hair on and off is no problem just position finger and grip more gentle and its no problem. I feel like heavy handed people have the problem. I love it more than I thought I would due to negative reviews.

This comb works well and is the first one that didn’t leave my hair smelling burnt. I have 4a-ish type hair and it is super frizzy and hard to straighten without majorly high temperatures. This has a setting of 1-20 and I got excellent results on level 12. I hope the ceramic coating remains intact unlike other ceramic flatirons from the past. I highly recommend, by the way I’m a licensed hairstylist.

I'm a fan of Andis products but this particular hot comb didn't not hold up to the Andis name.. Didn't get hot enough for me it said 420 but didn't perform like it was that hot.. It may be the material the comb is made of not sure.

Works Pretty Well For Electric

I’m not sure how well it works on thick course hair. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to test in on that hair type. It does a great job with straightening a soft wave, humps or soft curl patterns. Also it can be used on human hair pieces of all types . Be sure to use the lowest settings to test how much heat is needed before use .
The downside as most have stated it’s easy to shut off the power switch unintentionally while in use. The switch needs to be moved . Andis is a very good brand I’ve grown up using as a former hairstylist which Is why I wanted to give this hot comb a try . I give it 4 stars because of the issues with the power switch .

Not for beards but best on head hair

Ok I bought 3 different hair strainers and planned to keep one. I thought this one was going to be best for my mustache and beard but BURNS were far too likely and I went with a different one. This design has no burn protection design just flaming hot steel. But much to my surprise My wife with thick course asian hair loved this one best. It really worked fast. Not as great as the blowout bar but pretty darn good for 5 minuits. And for her the burning face is not an issue.
