Murray always, always challenges us to reach to highest plane of spiritual truth and life, but he doesn’t leave us with questions as to how to get there. Instead he encourages us with words like “Thank God! His love is able to possess us” (from Carnal and Spiritual). He shows that he understands the realities of Christian growth: “. . . the more I long for Heaven, the more I find I cannot get there without Christ” (from The Pathway to the Higher Life). Then, he does something I can always count on; he gives “Specific Steps by Which We Can Live Like Christ.” Because we know something about the history of his own struggles and process of spiritual growth (which he openly shares in the testimony included in this book) we know we are hearing from a trusted Christian brother. This is a book to meditate on – enjoy each bite of its delicious truth.
Andrew Murray's journey of spiritual struggle gives hope to us all. His direct approach takes us to the core of our problem for not knowing God. The common thread of humility runs through all three of his sermons, pointing to God as the only One who can get us "across the line".
These sermons must have been preached from a Spirit-filled heart, as it is the only way it can be received by the heart of the listener. It is my prayer that the richness and blessing of these words will reach and change every Christian.
A valuable study guide with very relevant content for today's Church, individuals and church groups seeking a deeper, richer walk with God.
Set out in simple yet profound steps, with diligence, prayer and faith this teaching opens the inner spiritual understanding to new heights of experience in 'walking in the Spirit and in truth'.
A library treasure for all time.
the holiness of the Lord.
