I've worked with Greg and attended his workshops and this book reads like you're learning from him in person. You'll learn tons of specific patterns you can use right away, but you'll also learn principles of design and human behavior and how they lead to the development and adoption of specific patterns. These are the meta lessons that apply anywhere and don't become outdated.
The difference between great designers and 'ok' designers is this: Great designers understand why a pattern works and can think critically to solve problems beyond existing patterns when needed. They can innovate when designing in an imperfect world.
This book will help you get work done now while helping you become a great mobile designer.
