Titles By Andy Schön
Schön describes being bit by a lion in the wilds of Zimbabwe and getting caught in war zones in the Middle East. He also shares his experiences on safari in the Serengeti, fishing for piranhas in the Amazon River, tent camping among penguin colonies in Antarctica, and speeding ATVs around the dunes of the Kalahari Desert. “What I love most is seeking out new corners of the world that are so exceptionally beautiful and unique that it truly feels as if I’m on another planet,” Schön says.
When asked about his motivation for producing the book, Schön explained, "I have been fortunate enough to be able to visit these places, but it took 165 flights and eight years to do it. I wanted to create a book that allows readers to travel the world - both near and far - in an hour or two, and without leaving their seats." Included alongside photographs of the Great Pyramid in Egypt and the Taj Mahal in India are local sights from the Oley Fair and the Shanesville farm of Schön’s brother.
