About the Author
Violeta Barrett has always written stories since she learned to write at the age of four. Subsequent to a forty-two year career in both the public and private sectors, Barrett, a Brooklyn transplant of Italian ancestry, moved from Canada to Ft. Myers, Florida, after her husband's death, where she resides today. She was encouraged to write a story on reinventing her life, which was published in an anthology of stories called "Beyond Coping." A Valentine letter she wrote on a whim won a prize and was published in her local newspaper. She began writing articles for a political newsletter soon after, eventually becoming its co-editor. Inspired by a dream, Barrett published her debut book "First Love" in 2011, a romantic memoir of a love she experienced fifty years ago. It was later translated into Spanish titled "Primer Amor." Her love for children and pets inspired her latest book "Angel in Disguise." Barrett attended the NY Institute of Finance and graduated from the American Institute of Banking, the Institute of Children's Literature, and York University in Toronto, where she earned a B.A. in Humanities--Religious Studies and Sociology at the age of sixty-one. Her passions are classical music, writing, reading, travel, photography...and love.

books have touched me. She has told two of the most deeply felt stories that parallel MY life without ever having met me. That is astonishing.
I just lost my own cat not long ago too so I can relate to Violeta's experience with her "Angel". It’s pretty neat how she puts into words the emotions you can feel when confronted by a pair of loving eyes.
Thanks for writing!!
Violeta let us travel with her on her relocation adventure enjoying the little surprises traveling with our pets. I would recommend
this book to older children and a must for adults who find themselves on such a journey as Violeta. I give this adorable read a
five star and am delighted with the beautiful illustrations.
