From a sparkling ballroom to the agony of a battlefield, an across the sea to a curiously lively deserted house, Pru despairs, gains independence, is hassled by an amorous ghost, reassured by an angel, guarded by a bereft dog and finally... well, if you're like me, you'll be smiling all over your face by the end. I heartily recommend My Angel for those jaded by the kind of story where nothing seems to happen. Lots and lots happens in My Angel and Pru is a charming heroine.
My Angel, My Light as Darkness Falls by Linda Hays-Gibbs is a delightful mix of regency romance, paranormal thriller, humour and adventure. Pru is an orphan whose only close family member is her twin brother, Michael, the Earl of White. When Michael joins the army to fight Napoleon's troops, Pru's Scottish admirer promises to watch out for him, but nothing goes as planned.
It is a wonderful hybrid of a book. It has elements of Regency romance (a splendid ball and a noble suitor), elements of gothic horror (a demon and various dark powers including an ancient vampire), and elements of coming of age story (the sheltered heroine has to learn to care for herself). It is frightening, sad and laugh-aloud funny (had me giggling hysterically when the heroine pondered on what to do with the Frenchman she had in the closet).
Angel In My Heart, Devil In My Soul is another beautiful release from Linda Hays-Gibbs. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. So often in romances characters are without depth and are almost cartoonish in the good guys versus the bad guys. That isn't so for this story where we have a hero who most couldn't term a good guy through much of the book, but he is a hero. This is a story of a man in desperate need of salvation and his journey to find it. This is a story about a beautiful woman with a golden soul who is in desperate need of a little corruption to make her a bit more worldly. This is a story of love, of hope and this is a story of soul. If you aren't familiar with the concept of the Grigori or the Nephilim, you will learn of them in this tale. This is a true love story and I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of love or romance. Rebecca Minto Author and Reviewer
From the Author
This Paranormal Regency Romance is the second in a series that started with My Angel, My Light As Darkness Falls. This book starts to tell the story of the Angel Morovani that will be the third book aboutr Angels. He is the father of these girls and his story will make you understand why these young women are so pure and good. It is all about romance and I want to convey a feeling of being in the moment with all of them. I hope to add more romance stories to this one as being angels they all have twins and that is a lot of stories to tell. We now have three sets of twins so far. It will be so much fun to tell their stories too and all about their gifts or powers as well as their romances.

*** Rachael has a golden soul, half human, half angel who has been sheltered her entire life. When her at last her dear grandmother died and her uncle (she sensed was evil) would have been her guardian she set out on her own. However, a bad fall and bump on her head caused amnesiac symptoms so that when John caught up with her, she couldn't sense his evil, but only knew that with him she felt safe (sometimes). In using this scenario, it gave Ms. Gibbs the opportunity to allow feelings to develop between Rachael and John based on trust and need.
In ANGEL IN MY HEART, DEVIL IN MY SOUL author Linda Hays-Gibbs brings the reader another exquisite fantasy and inspirational tale of Good vs. Evil. The reader will experience all the emotions of a sensual tale with the awakening of true love for a man who had lost his soul and learned that by the grace of God, he could be saved.
Bottom line: ANGEL IN MY HEART, DEVIL IN MY SOUL gives a very powerful message without being preachy and it combined a beautiful story that was emotionally felt, making this a highly recommended read!

Can a soul that belongs to the devil find love in his blackened heart?
John Monroe's soul is as dark as the moonless night. When he is given the order to murder Rachael, he approaches his task with cold, calculation - until he comes face to face with his target. Beautiful, ethereal Rachael whose angelic soul reaches into his blackened heart and has him yearning for cleansing.
Rachael dreams of a man she needs courage to love. A love strong enough to beat the devil out of the soul of the man destined for her. But first, she has to find him. She has powers she doesn't understand, and has to learn to interpret and control her ability to sense evil. When she falls and loses her memory, she finds herself falling in love with the devil.
A great read! There is nothing better than pure love conquering the darkest heart.
guessing with this fight between good and evil. a whirlwind of enchantment and
different exotic desires and humor, a wonderful read.
Linda Hays-Gibbs is a purest in regency paranormal romance. I loved this story! John, a hitman for Satan, falls in love with Rachel, a nephilim, while stalking her as his next victim. Terrific stuff that happens in the early 1800's. Hays-Gibbs stays true to the historical time by keeping language and customs accurate of the period. She even manages to cross-promote her other book at the end of the story. This is the second book I've read by this author and am a fan. She has a descriptive, adventurous, and addicting style of story-telling that I recommend for fans of this genre. Look forward to her next book.
Rachael is half angel. She grows up beautiful, but she has a secret; she can sense evil thoughts which makes it difficult for her to be out and about.
Now they are dreaming of one another... Is there a chance for this most unlikely match? Linda Hays-Gibbs has written another paranormal gothic story lit with unexpected touches of humour. This one is highly recommended for readers who enjoy something that is really different. The author has a gift for unusual situations and characters that are quite unlike any others I've ever met in fiction; the mix of humour and horror is enticing.
