I downloaded this book because I got book two from Library Things' member review… This book was free on Amazon.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was different sort of a Romeo/Juliet sort of things only with an Angel and a Fallen (Angels that fell from grace and became demons). Interesting concept, one I haven't read before, which is why I signed up for Blood Awakening (book 2, without
The story had a nice flow to it and enough twists to keep it interesting and guessing. The characters were well thought out and just a nice amount of snarkiness from most of the major characters. Char and Az are both strong characters and go through a lot of things … no I won't tell you if they get their HEA. Think the one thing I came away with was, not all demons are evil, just like a person, good and bad… just like an Angel can be a controlling so and so.
One of my biggest pet peeves is authors that just plunk love scenes in their stories for the sake of having them. This story wasn't one of them. The love scenes fit in nicely with the storyline … just the right amount of hotness.
This is a free book on Amazon, so give it a try, think you'll enjoy it and want to go to the next book.
Slow start, anticlimactic conclusion, and would seriously benefit from a high priced editor. However, the characters were developed and the world she created, while not entirely original, was interesting. And there was some intense action in the middle where I refused to let the book go until I had discovered what happened. I am intrigued by the side characters. Hopefully she develops and publishes their stories as well.
