Tayla is the daughter of an angel who died trying to save the humans. Abandoned by those she thought would protect and help her she has been living her life underground with a false identity and work papers. If it is discovered she is the daughter of an angel her life would be forfeit.
Ethan is an angel who has pledged his life to saving the human race. He is also the person who was the best friend to Tayla's father, but was unable to save him when they were attacked. Complicating matters further, Tayla has had a crush on him since she was a teenager. Now he has come back into her life. Tayla doesn't know if she should trust him or not, but she does know her attraction to him hasn't changed. As they work together to help save the human race, Tayla must confront her feelings and meet challenges she never expected to face.
The story is good, the plot complex and interesting and the characters in this novel are well developed. The writing is good and the flow is excellent.

In Angel's Desire, we meet Ethan, one of the twelve Fallen. He and his brethren have discovered that the angels are constructing a massive prison complex somewhere in Alaska. When it's complete, they plan on carrying out the next phase of their ultimate plan for humanity. The Fallen plan to destroy it before that happens. Problem is, it's buried deep underground, making the search next to impossible.
Tayla is a Nephilim, half human, half angel, and considered an abomination by other angels. She's been aware of her heritage all her life and has become an expert at keeping a low profile. She, like the Fallen, would be executed if the angels were to find out about her. She also has an uncanny knack for finding lost objects. But can she locate a secret prison?
Tayla and Ethan are at reluctant to work together at first. Because of a series of false assumptions and misunderstandings stemming from years earlier, there is a world of distrust between them. Yet it's obvious that each still has strong feelings for the other.
I really enjoyed watching Ethan and Tayla's relationship unfold, as suspicion turned to trust, and trust gradually turned to love, and each began to see the past from the other's point of view.
I have to say that I've read relatively few novels about angels, fallen or otherwise, but this is the first series I've read which features angels as villains, and I found the role reversal to be an interesting and refreshing twist.
Rosalie Lario has created a compelling world populated by memorable characters, and I look forward to the continuation of the story in the next book.
I really like this series! In this book, we get to meet Tayla. She is another nephilim who actually knew her angel father, until he died when she was 16 years old. Ethan was his best friend and was with him when he died and Tayla has always blamed Ethan for not saving him. At 16, she had a huge crush on Ethan and he felt the same draw to her, but she was too young for him, so he stayed away. Now it's 10 years later and Ethan is ready to move on Tayla and make her his mate. He just has to gain her trust again after his abandonment of her on top of her father's death.
This book took a step further into this fabulous world that Rosalie Lario has created. See the review for Book #1, For Love of an Angel, for more about the basics of the world. I really liked both Ethan & Tayla, although I don't understand why either of them was so stubborn about letting the other know their feelings (although without that, it probably wouldn't have been much of a story...hehe.) Things are ramping up as far as the overall story arc and I think that it's going to be fun to watch the story evolve. This book had a bit more action than the first and I think that is also going to increase throughout the series, as the showdown between the angels gets closer. I also really loved that we got to see a good bit of Eva in this book (heroine from book #1.)
These books are short reads...about a third of the size of a normal novel, but they don't seem to be lacking at all. The stories are fabulous, the characters well-developed, and the romance is sizzling. The world that Rosalie has created is amazing. I am still in love with the cave where they all live. I want to go live there. Of course, the fact that there are 10 super-sexy male angels (the other 2 are female) that wander around all the time shirtless (shirts get in the way of their wings when they need them suddenly) makes the cave dwelling pretty alluring too. There are twelve Fallen angels (10 males, 2 females) and I am assuming that we will get to see all their HEA's. It's going to be a fun series.
