I adore Serrah's ability to pull me in so deep to a story, novel or novella- never seems to matter- where I don't even notice the gender as much as I notice the how deeply the characters feel for one another, how hard they love, how emotionally ridden her plots are and the strength inside her characters which drive me on as a reader.
Of course her conflicts and actual plots never cease to amaze me, and this one I particularly liked because I feel it stretched her characters, ones already set to a series, to introduce a new element to them, Christmas.
Her leading female character doesn't much believe in Christmas, but even so, the elements of the holiday are ever present and real for the story. I also love how she puts each character different her leading ladies lover is submissive, fragile yet strong, while her leading lady is dominating, strong and yet fragile to her lover at the same time.
If you have yet to read one of Serrah's stories- you are truly missing out.
What surprised me the most about the sex scenes was how effortlessly the author used some of them to move the plot forward. They were hot and informative! That isn’t something I generally see in these types of stories, so it was a lot of fun to see how this technique can work.
Raschael lives in an incredibly complex society whose rules often have little to nothing in common with how humans live. While the world-building in this tale was strong, there were several times when I felt confused about what was going on. Certain terms were used for a long time before they were defined, yet knowing what they meant was important to understanding why certain characters reacted to them the way they did. I would have really liked to have either learned their definitions right away or to have access to a short glossary at the end of this e-book that explained what these words meant.
With that being said, Ms. Serrah has a smooth writing style that made it hard for me to tear my eyes away from the page. The world she created was fascinating. I read this whole book in one sitting because I was so curious to see how it would end. Based on how much I enjoyed it, I will be on the lookout for what she comes up with next.
Angel’s Keeping is a good choice for anyone in the mood for something steamy.

Amazing write by Brantwijn Serrah, it brings you into the darkside of the unknown and shows you their world. With just the right amount of kinkiness and mystery, this book leaves you wanting more.
This was a heartbreakingly sweet and emotional journey for a succubus discovering the true meaning of love. Beautifully written. It had me in tears, and I so wanted the two main characters to get their happily ever after.
I'm not a fan of explicit sex scenes or erotica, and don't read them in general. However, this didn't detract from the overall heartwrenching love story for me.
I adored the characters in this story, and despite making me cry it left a smile on my face and a warm fuzzy feeling. If you love sweet stories with a great deal of heat, plus a fascinating new twist on angels and demons, this is the book for you.
There is some nice world building in its exploration of the demon hierarchies, and its perils. One succubus is commanded to seduce clergy by her superior, yet when her own pet escapes into the mundane world, she must decide to disobey her superior and find her partner.
Story has a Christmas miracle twist to it. I look forward to the rest of this series.
