About the author

Angie Amante is the pen name given to the Angie's Cookbook series. Amante translates from Italian to mean love and my grandmother the "Original Angie" gave me a wonderful gift in the love of food and cooking.
I remember helping her make tomato sauce every Sunday morning. I remember how she would flatten one of the meatballs she was frying and give it to me as a treat for helping out. Then, when the time was right I would get a nice sample of the sauce with a crusty chunk of bread.
What better way to honor her memory and explore my enthusiasm for all things delicious than with a cookbook.
I hope you enjoy these dishes with good friends and family.

The recipes are easy to prepare, with the number of servings included, and directions. In addition, the author offers several helpful tips and tricks for preparation. Many of the spices are common ingredients we already have at home, and the recipes include much more than dinners.
Angie begins in the Introduction with Appetizers to stimulate the appetite, such as Antipasto, and also includes Bagna Ca'uda, a mouth-watering dipping sauce. There are also recipes for Soups, and the desserts are incredible.
Some of the delicious recipes include: Linguine In Clam Sauce, my old time favorite! Shrimp Fra Diavalo is another recipe we made, and simply divine. My daughter selected the Scallop Piccata for our next special dinner, and I am anxious to make it. There is also a recipe for Spaghetti Alla Vongole, another delicious clam dish, and many more dinner recipes.
Some of the Dessert recipes include: Zeppole; Pignoli Cookies; and Cuccidati(fig cookies). We made the Zeppples, because I've tasted them before and love them, but never made them. My daughter loves them, and so do my guests. I will be using this cookbook a great deal. What a fantastic bargain, and the desserts are an added bonus. Highly recommended!
